On Sunday 18 October we were delighted to attend the 50th anniversary celebrations of The Polish South Coast Charity Trust.🎉🎉🎉

307 Squadron Project and The Polish South Coast Charity Trust have worked together on a number of successful events over the years.

On Sunday, 307 Squadron Project's Andrzej Michalski and Michael Parrott were honoured to be awarded medals🎖🎖 for their work, and 307 Squadron Project member Paulina Michalska was awarded a certificate for her work with the project.😊

W niedzielę 18 października mieliśmy zaszczyt wziąć udział w obchodach 50-lecia organizacji The Polish South Coast Charity Trust, Orzeł Biały 🎉🎉🎉

Na przestrzeni lat, w ramach współpracy między 307 Squadron Project a The Polish South Coast Charity Trust, zorganizowaliśmy wspólnie szereg wspaniałych wydarzeń.

W niedzielę Andrzej Michalski i Michael Parrott z 307 Squadron Project zostali uhonorowani medalami🎖🎖 za swój wkład w realizowane działania, a członkini projektu, Paulina Michalska, otrzymała dyplom za swój udział w pracach organizacji.😊

It is one month until the Polish flag is raised over the Guildhall at Exeter on 307 Squadron Day and our free exhibition. 🇵🇱

On 15 November 1942 W/Cdr Jan Michałowski presented the Polish national flag to the city of Exeter as a sign of international cooperation and friendship.

Pozostał już tylko miesiąc do momentu, w którym – podczas obchodów Dnia Dywizjonu 307 oraz towarzyszącej im wystawy – na budynku Guildhall w Exeter zostanie uroczyście poniesiona polska flaga 🇵🇱

15 listopada 1942 roku dowódca Dywizjonu 307, major pilot Jan Michałowski przekazał miastu Exeter polską flagę państwową jako symbol przyjaźni oraz międzynarodowej współpracy.

83 years ago on 12th October 1943 radio observer Antoni Żebrowski joined 307 Squadron.

In 2018 we were lucky enough to visit and interview him at Buenos Aires.

It is because of veterans like Antoni Żebrowski and their relatives that we are able to tell the squadron's story with public exhibitions such as the one taking place at Exeter on 14th and 15th November.

83 lata temu, 12 października 1943 roku, radio obserwator Antoni Żebrowski dołączył do Dywizjonu 307.

W 2018 roku mieliśmy zaszczyt odwiedzić go w Buenos Aires i przeprowadzić z nim wywiad.

To dzięki weteranom takim jak Antoni Żebrowski oraz ich bliskim możemy opowiadać historię dywizjonu poprzez wystawy i uroczystości, takie jak ta, która odbędzie się 14 i 15 listopada w Exeter.

Dziękujemy Pani Katarzynie, wnuczce nawigatora Dywizjonu 307 Stanisława Bohdana Szkopa, za wyjątkowe spotkanie.🙏

Stanisław Bohdan Szkop zginął tragicznie 21 marca 1943 roku wraz z Janem Michałowskim – swoim pilotem, przyjacielem i dowódcą Dywizjonu 307. Został pochowany na Higher Cemetery w Exeter.

We would like to thank Mrs. Katarzyna, the granddaughter of Stanisław Bohdan Szkop, navigator of No. 307 Squadron, for this exceptional meeting.🙏

Stanisław Bohdan Szkop tragically lost his life on 21 March 1943, together with Jan Michałowski — his pilot, friend, and commander of No. 307 Squadron. He was laid to rest at Higher Cemetery in Exeter.

85 years ago, on 27 September 1941, the crew of pilot Lieutenant Witold Gayzler & observer Lieutenant Włodzimierz Pfleger were killed when their Beaufighter crashed into a hill in Dartmoor during bad weather conditions.

This was the first accident for the 307 Squadron with the twin-engine Beaufighter.

In recent years a memorial has been erected near to the crash site to inform visitors of the crash.🌺🌺

85 lat temu, 27 września 1941, załoga “Lwowskich Puchaczy” pilot porucznik Witold Gayzler i nawigator porucznik Włodzimierz Pfleger, lecąc samolotem Beaufighter uderzyli we wzgórze w Dartmoor podczas złych warunków atmosferycznych.

Był to pierwszy wypadek Dywizjonu 307 na dwusilnikowym samolocie Beaufighter.

W ostatnich latach w pobliżu miejsca katastrofy odsłonięto tablicę, by upamiętnić lotników, którzy zginęli w tym wypadku.🌺🌺

Only 7 weeks until our event in Exeter! 🎉

A new exhibition dedicated to 307 Squadron will be unveiled for the first time on November 14th and 15th at Exeter Historic Guildhall.

Two new exclusive books and the official 307 Squadron Project calendar for 2027 will also be available. 🙂

On 25th September 1943 four Mosquitos of 307 Squadron destroyed two, probably destroyed another two, and damaged another three Junkers-88 bombers over the Bay of Biscay. 🎉

During the battle one Mosquito was hit by enemy fire killing the British crew of F/Sgt Leslie Lowndes and F/Sgt Ivor Cotton.🌺🌺

25 września 1943 nad Zatoką Biskajską, cztery załogi samolotów Mosquito Dywizjonu 307 zniszczyły dwa samoloty wroga, zaliczono im prawdopodobne zniszczenia kolejnych dwóch oraz uszkodziły następne trzy bombowce Junkers-88. 🎉

Podczas bitwy jeden Mosquito został trafiony, zginęła brytyjska załoga... pilot F/Sgt Leslie Lowndes wraz z nawigatorem F/Sgt Ivor Cotton.🌺🌺

We are delighted to announce that the Polish Air Force Museum in Dęblin is a partner for our event in Exeter! 🎉🎉🎉

The exhibition titled "Lwów Eagle-Owls" (Lwowskie Puhacze) - which was created two years ago and displayed at the Dęblin museum for a year - will be shown for the first time at the 307 Squadron Days in Exeter!

We extend our sincere thanks to the Polish Air Force Museum in Dęblin for this wonderful and fruitful collaboration.🙂

107 years ago, on 20th September 1919, Zdzisław Kurek was born at Bestwina, Poland. He was killed on 13th February 1942 aged 22 (four other airmen were killed that week), when his plane suddenly lost speed and fell straight to the ground. He and navigator Józef Skrouba were killed instantly.

Zdzisław Kurek is photographed with his British wife Constance (nee Whitaker).🥰

107 lat temu, 20 września 1919 roku w miejscowości Bestiwina w Polsce urodził się Zdzisław Kurek. Zdzisław zginął 13 lutego 1942 roku w wieku 22 lat (był to tak zwany czarny tydzień Dywizjonu 307), pilotowany przez niego samolot nagle stracił moc w silnikach i rozbił się o ziemię. Pilot wraz z nawigatorem Józefem Skrouba ponieśli śmierć na miejscu.

On 18th September 1944 pilot F/Lt Madej and navigator F/O Gąsecki, while returning from Operation Market Garden, collided in the air with another 307 Squadron Mosquito. Madej and Gąsecki died on the farm at Withcall in Lincolnshire.

In 2016 a monument to these pilots was founded and unveiled, the originator was Henry Smith, the owner of the farm where the accident happened.🌺🌺🌺

18 wrzesnia 1944 roku pilot F/Lt Madej i nawigator F/O Gąsecki podczas powrotu z operacji Market Garden zderzył się w powietrzu z innym Mosquito Dywizjonu 307. Madej i Gąsecki zgineli rozbijając się na farmie pod Withcall w Lincolnshire.

W 2016 roku został ufundowany i odsłonięty pomnik ku czci tych lotników, pomysłodawcą był Henry Smith właściciel farmy, na której doszło do tego wypadku.🌺🌺🌺
