Treasure Seekers

Treasure Seekers Where people become the best versions of themselves - impacting over 2000 vulnerable people every week in Gloucester and the surroudning areas!

Includes The Cavern Kingfisher Treasure Seekers is an organisation set up to enhance the lives of vulnerable and disadvantaged people. We believe that all people have something valuable to contribute to community and we help people become 'the best versions of themselves'. We do this through a 'wrap around' approach of service delivery that equips and enables individuals to deve

lop in their soft and social skills, receive specialist support and training and grow positive social networks. This approach leads to bespoke journeys depending on individual need and personality. The journey may be unique, but the destination is the same, people being fully engaged and contributing members of their communities in their own and distinctive way. As directors and staff we have been working in this area for many years, but in june 2012 we incorporated as Kingfisher Treasure Seekers ltd, a social enterprise, to enhance and further our work. In 2014 we purchased and began renovating our base and community hub in Westgate Street in Gloucester City Centre.

πŸš—βœ¨ The Lighthouse love a road trip! βœ¨πŸš—

Although a lot of our activities take place in our local community, we sometimes travel a little further to visit new places and try new experiences. 🚐

Road trips give us the chance to build confidence with travelling and explore different environments in a safe and supportive way. We know that new places and changes to routine can feel challenging for some people, so we take things at a pace that works for each person and make sure everyone feels supported.

No matter where we go, there are opportunities to learn new skills, try something different, and make happy memories together. 🌟

Cooking is a skill which we often teach at The Anchor Programme. πŸ₯˜πŸ½οΈ

We are very lucky to have access to the Wiggly Worm Community Kitchen and have enjoyed many home-cooked meals there together.

Whether you’re someone who was never taught, never had the chance to learn, lacking in confidence, wanting to eat healthier, or hoping to make more cost-effective meals β€” cooking is a really valuable life skill to have. πŸ’™

At Anchor, cooking sessions are about much more than just food. They can help build:

β€’ Independence
β€’ Confidence
β€’ Budgeting skills
β€’ Decision making skills
β€’ Planning skills
β€’ Motivation to care for yourself

There’s also something really satisfying about sitting down to enjoy a meal you’ve put time and effort into β€” because you deserve good things too. 🌱

Choosing to buy from Starfish Project means choosing to make a difference. ⭐

Every necklace, bracelet, and pair of earrings helps support women who have experienced exploitation and gives them opportunities for safe work, freedom, and independence. ✨

Here at Treasure Seekers, we love being part of that journey. From carefully packing each order at our Westgate site to seeing how much people love the jewellery, it’s amazing to know that every purchase has purpose behind it. πŸ“¦πŸ’™

Your order is more than just a gift or accessory.
It helps create opportunities.
It helps restore confidence.
It helps change lives.

And on top of all that… the jewellery is absolutely beautiful too! 😊

Thank you for supporting Starfish Project and helping us be part of something bigger.

At Treasure Seekers, we believe everyone has unique skills and talents to share. We love seeing people grow in confidence and take positive steps towards their goals.

Sometimes, all it takes is an opportunity to explore new possibilities and build confidence. Whether it's attending a job fair, speaking to someone about an opportunity, applying for a role, or actually trying a voluntary or paid role, any step towards one's goals is something we celebrate at Treasure Seekers.

Well done Tanya!

🎢✨ Fun, Friendship & Music at the Eastgate Hub ✨🎢

The Lighthouse recently spent time at the Treasure Seekers Eastgate Hub with TSPA and had such a brilliant time! 😁

At the Hub, there are so many opportunities to have fun, meet new people, and make music together. From sharing laughs and conversations to getting involved in fun activities, it’s a space full of energy, connection, and community spirit β€” with lots of opportunities to build confidence and practice social interaction.

We are really proud of everyone who got involved and embraced the experience. Thank you to everyone at the Eastgate Hub for creating such a welcoming and uplifting space! ✨

Saying goodbye is always tough. As a leaving gift our trainers made their trainee a scrapbook to memorialise her time on The Anchor Programme and to consolidate her learning.
It is clear from the message she sent us that she so appreciated the gift and the time she had with us. We wish her well as she moves on to the next chapter in her life, she will be very missed!

Starfish Project volunteer Raji is a woman of many talents! Not only has she quickly picked up how to efficiently box up orders with good attention to detail, but she can make origami! Her creations are proudly decorating our Starfish office.
We are so grateful for her hard work in the Starfish team.

🌟 Celebrating Our Amazing Volunteers! 🌟

This volunteers week, we want to thank each and everyone of our volunteers for their amazing help and dedication to Treasure Seekers.
We truly couldn’t do what we do without you! πŸ’›

Our volunteers are the heart of our community β€” giving their time, energy and kindness to support others and make a real difference every single week. Whether it’s helping at events, supporting sessions or simply being a friendly face, they help create a welcoming space for everyone.

Volunteering isn’t just about giving back β€” it’s also about building skills, growing in confidence and being part of something meaningful. It brings people together, strengthens our community and creates lasting friendships.

To every single one of our volunteers β€” thank you. We appreciate you more than words can say πŸ’™

β˜• The Lighthouse recently enjoyed a trip to Wetherspoons!

Trips out like this are a great opportunity to build confidence and independence whilst spending time together in the community.

There are so many skills which can be learnt from a simple trip to Wetherspoons. From choosing what to have, to ordering, to using the coffee machine and socialising with others, everyone did brilliantly and had lots of smiles along the way πŸ˜„

At The Lighthouse, we believe everyday experiences can help develop important life skills whilst creating meaningful memories together πŸ’›
