Local frui and veg is back - straight from the farm!

Local asparagus bunches for Easter - special price £4.95. Also bright pink local forced rhubarb, local apples and herbs.

Text Caroline on 07564 365200 to reserve what you want to avoid disappointment. Pick up and pay or buy from Caroline at the May Hill Village Hall Pop up Pub this Friday night (between 6 and 😎.

Massive thanks from all of us on the committee to everyone who shopped, volunteered, supplied and supported the May Hill Hub in any capacity over the past 5 years … it’s been a very special community collaboration ❤️

Thanks also to those who could come on Friday for a very lovely send off 🎉 🥂 (Thanks to Dave Nutter for the fab photos).

Keep a look out for future May Hill Hub social activities or initiatives which we hope to formulate over the next few months.

Today is your last chance to enjoy the delectable local goodies via the online shop for the foreseeable future.

May Hill Hub is closing up shop, due to declining orders.

It's been a wonderful 5 year long journey.

We will miss you all - *thank you so much* from all the committee (we will be looking at ways to continue the Hub vibe in some way once we’ve sorted all the shut-down admin). Maybe we'll see some of you at the Pop up pub on Friday ?! 🥳 🥂 🛍️

We will miss every single one of our lovely customers, suppliers and volunteers.

*The final Organic Box contents are below* … Going forward Wye Organic can deliver direct to your door from their farm in Goodrich by ordering via their website.

Small box:
Potatoes, Carrots, Onions, Chinese cabbage*, Spaghetti Squash*, Leeks*, Swiss chard*, Salad mix*
(small amounts of each);

Medium box:
Potatoes, Carrots, Onions, Chinese cabbage*, Spaghetti Squash*, Leeks*, Leafy celery*, Swiss chard*, Salad mix*
(medium amounts of each);

Large box:
Potatoes, Carrots, Onions, Chinese cabbage*, Spaghetti Squash*, Leeks*, Runner beans*, Tomatillos*, Swiss chard*, Salad mix*,
(large amounts of each).

Items marked * are organically grown by us; other items are organic certified, bought in locally.

We only use veg that is in season in the UK, making our boxes truly local, seasonal and organic.

Deadline for orders is midnight tomorrow, collection Friday 2-4.30pm.

Very sad news 😢

This Tuesday is our second last chance to get in an online oder by midnight, for pick up at the May Hill Village Hall on Friday.

After 5 proud years, the May Hill Hub is finishing next week, with the last day on 3 October.

It's been a wonderful journey, bringing local people together with local food and bringing community together. But orders have still been steadily declining, making it unviable to continue.

So take advantage of this wonderful community service while it still lasts!

To our amazing loyal customers and community:

Unfortunately despite the hub's ongoing popularity, order numbers have been reducing for some time, to the point where it would be unsustainable going forward.

We currently have sufficient funds to meet our needs, but with rising costs we suspect this could easily change, so we feel it’s prudent to make the difficult decision now. We are grateful for some new volunteers who have come forward, but realistically the overall number of volunteers remains insufficient for the smooth running of the Hub.

As a community, we can reflect very proudly on our achievements, and the benefits that this weekly social focus has provided. In the longer term we will be considering ways to continue some sort of community ‘Hub’ organisation, but without the shop element. (We really need people to drive this forward!) As one door closes, another one opens …

So … from the first Hub shop in October 2020….. the final Hub shop will be on Friday October 3rd (‘last orders’ by Tuesday September 30th). Let’s make it a good one!

We have all learnt so much over the last 5 years, and had some amazing times, but we couldn’t have done it without our wonderful, loyal customers and volunteers– THANK YOU! We hope you will be able to continue to support our fantastic suppliers in their individual businesses.

To celebrate the fabulous achievements of the Hub, and as a thank you, we will be holding a drinks and nibbles party after the last Hub shop (4.30-6pm on Friday 3rd October).

Please let us know if you’re able to make it.
