As Cheltenham celebrates its Science Festival, we brought a little scientific fun to Windsor Street Care Centre!

Our residents enjoyed a fascinating science experience, learning how some old-fashioned treats were made in Victorian times. We watched demonstrations of Victorian lemonade, lemon sherbet, and even candy floss being created.

One of the most surprising facts we discovered was that candy floss was invented by a dentist, which certainly sparked plenty of conversation and laughter!

There was lots of curiosity, reminiscing, and of course a little taste testing along the way. It was wonderful to bring the excitement of science and discovery into our home and create new memories together.

A lovely morning of learning, laughter, and fun.

Baby shower for Linda
Today we celebrated our carer Linda as she begins her maternity leave. We shared a beautiful baby shower together with lovely decorations, cake, laughter and so much love.

Now we are all excitedly waiting to meet her precious baby girl 💗

Wishing Linda a peaceful rest before her new adventure begins and sending love from all of us at Windsor Street.

A huge thank you to everyone who braved the heatwave and joined us for our Time for a Cuppa charity event today. ☀️🫖
A very special thank you to Marites, our wonderful Head of Dementia Care, who organised this beautiful event. As always, she was incredibly supportive, helpful, and brought everyone together with so much care and kindness.
We enjoyed delicious cakes and sweet treats, fantastic cold drinks, and lots of laughter throughout the day. A big shout out to our amazing kitchen team for helping us fill the tables with so many lovely refreshments.
Thank you to everyone who came along, even on your day off, to support this special event. Your kindness and support meant so much to us all.
We enjoyed the karaoke the most — it truly was the most beautiful day. 💛

Residents and staff enjoyed a lovely cool treat during the heatwave today with ice lollies and ice cream in the garden ☀️🍦 It was the perfect way to stay refreshed, have a laugh together and enjoy the sunshine. Moments like these make summer extra special at Windsor Street 💛

We would love to invite you to our Cuppa for Dementia fundraiser at Windsor Street Care Centre.

This is our third time hosting this special event, raising awareness and support for families facing dementia. Your fundraising and support can make a huge difference to those living with dementia and the people who care for them.

Join us for tea, coffee, homemade treats, conversation, and community support in a warm and welcoming environment.

Our Head of Dementia, Marites, alongside Dementia Leads Jessica and Bea, are happy to have conversations and offer support.

We look forward to welcoming families, friends, carers, and our local community 💙

Today at Windsor Street, we are celebrating International Nurses Day and saying a heartfelt thank you to all of our wonderful nurses and every member of staff who cares for and supports our residents each day. ❤️
Your compassion, patience, kindness and dedication make such a difference to the lives of the people who call Windsor Street home. From comforting words and gentle care to smiles, laughter and support during difficult moments, you help create a place filled with warmth, dignity and community.
We are truly grateful for everything you do, today and every day.

We celebrated VE Day at Windsor Street Care Centre with a wonderful performance from Amanda, listening and singing along to old wartime songs that brought back so many memories.
Although these events happened many years ago, it is still our duty to remember, reflect, and honour those who lived through such difficult times.
A very special moment was hearing Inge beautifully sing the German part, reminding us how music can bring people together in peace, understanding, and remembrance. ❤️
The performance was very popular and enjoyed by everyone. We are already looking forward to our Summer Fête, where Amanda will be joining us again to share beautiful love songs. Stay tuned for more details!
