🍎🍂 A busy Wednesday at The Kimbrose Club!

We baked autumnal apple and almond cakes, with a little sampling along the way, of course. All part of the quality control! 🍰😋

We also enjoyed musical entertainment from Timeless Tunes and fitted in a round of indoor golf, safely away from the horrible rainy weather. ⛳🌧️

Baking, music and a little friendly competition made for a lovely way to spend the day together. 💚

A time for faith and fellowship at Guild House. 🤍

On Friday, Bruce and Jane led our monthly church service, including Holy Communion. Afterwards, they visited residents who were unable to attend, bringing Holy Communion to them in the comfort of their own rooms.

We feel very blessed to have such a close relationship with St Catherine’s Church. Thank you, Bruce and Jane, for your kindness and for helping residents continue to practise their faith and feel connected to their church community.

Lovely company, good conversation and a little Christmas creativity at Magdalen House!

We enjoyed spending time together at our Sunday Lunch Club and made a start on our designs for the Christmas card competition. 🎄🎨 We’re looking forward to seeing everyone’s ideas take shape!

A wonderful day of music at Guild House this week!

Musical Movements with Sue brought plenty of fun, instruments and laughter as everyone enjoyed getting into the rhythm. 🥁

In the afternoon, we welcomed Deirdre, Kathy and Chris from Uley Piano Group for a beautiful concert filled with classics, songs, poetry and sing-alongs.

Thank you to our lovely visitors for bringing us together through music and making the day so special.

The Old Boys from The Kimbrose Club made quite an entrance on their trip to Kingsholm! We couldn’t resist adding a little crowd noise to give them the reception they deserve. 👏😂

🏉 A morning to remember at Kingsholm!

The Kimbrose Club’s Old Boys Club enjoyed a fantastic visit to the home of Gloucester Rugby, with memories, laughter and a few potential new signings in the changing rooms! 😉

A huge thank you to Dave Rodgers and Gloucester Rugby for making us feel so welcome.

Our grass is continuing to recover well after scarifying, and it’s lovely to see it looking greener again! 💚

Scarifying removes the build-up of moss and dead grass, helping air, water and nutrients reach the soil. It can leave lawns looking a little worse before they look better, but it gives healthy growth a helping hand.

Alongside our autumn lawn treatments, this has helped the grass recover from the summer drought and prepare for the colder months ahead. 🍂

🎶 Generations making music together at Guild House!

We enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with the STAND BY ME project from Gloucestershire Academy of Music, bringing residents and children together through music.

There was singing, conducting and plenty of conversation as we discovered each other’s favourite snacks and animals. Songs from the Second World War prompted residents to share their memories, which were then woven into a song.

A lovely opportunity for younger and older generations to learn from one another, share stories and create something together.

Our current opportunities at Gloucester Charities Trust include roles in residential care, sheltered housing and our kitchens:

- Chef Manager: £17 an hour, plus £1 an hour at weekends
- Shift Leader Days at Magdalen House: £16 an hour, plus £1 an hour at weekends
- Dementia Wellbeing Assistant: £13.80 an hour, plus £1 an hour at weekends
- Two Chef posts: £14.10 an hour, plus £1 an hour at weekends
- Weekend Care and Support Assistant: 24 hours, alternate weekends, £15.10 an hour
- Care and Support Assistants, days: two 30-hour posts, £14.10 an hour weekdays and £15.10 at weekends
- Independent Living Officer: 35 hours, £14.50 an hour
