Residents at Guild House were treated to a wonderful performance from the Barrack Room Boys on Tuesday. 🎶

Nicholas sang a lovely selection of songs from the wartime era, which were very well received by everyone. Residents were seen singing along, smiling, and engaging throughout the performance, with plenty of positive feedback afterwards.

Many commented on how much they enjoyed the entertainment, especially Nicholas’s impressive ability to reach such a wide range of pitches.

A brilliant afternoon of music, memories, and smiles.

Sue led a brilliant Musical Movement session on Monday morning, bringing residents together for dancing, music and gentle movement.

There was a lovely lively atmosphere, with everyone getting involved in their own way and enjoying the chance to move, sing along and have fun together.

A wonderful way to start the day. 💛

At Gloucester Charities Trust, we believe wellbeing should be supported at every stage of life.

That is why we are so pleased to see two previously unused spaces at St Bartholomew’s transformed into a brand-new gym and wellbeing studio for residents to enjoy.

As we get older, staying active can make such a difference, not just to physical fitness, but to confidence, mobility, balance, independence, and overall wellbeing. Whether it is gentle exercise, stretching, movement classes, or simply having a welcoming space to focus on health, these new facilities will give residents more opportunities to keep moving in a way that feels right for them.

This project is a brilliant example of making better use of the spaces we already have, turning them into something meaningful, practical, and genuinely beneficial for the people who live here.

We look forward to seeing the gym and studio become a positive part of life at St Bartholomew’s. 💙

A lovely moment from Bluebell on Saturday as residents enjoyed watching Trooping the Colour, either from the comfort of their own rooms or together in the little lounge.

Many were completely engrossed, with lots of memories shared, including stories from those who had seen it in London when they were younger. Everyone was pleased to see such pleasant weather for the occasion too.

For some, it was a chance to reminisce and enjoy the pageantry, while others were simply happy to sit, relax, and enjoy a cuddle.

A simple but special morning, full of memories, conversation, and comfort. 💙👑

💙 Sometimes all it takes is one unexpected bill.

A broken appliance. Reduced hours at work. Rising household costs. An unforeseen expense.

Financial hardship can affect anyone, and it often arrives when it's least expected.

Through our Relief in Need Fund, Gloucester Charities Trust helps local people facing difficult circumstances by providing practical support when it is needed most.

If things are feeling a little harder than usual, or you know someone who could benefit from support, we encourage you to find out more.

Because everyone needs a helping hand from time to time.

🎲 There were lucky throws, lots of cheers, and plenty of concentration as residents enjoyed a game of Yahtzee on Friday

It was lovely to see residents getting involved, writing down their scores, and keeping track as the points added up.

A simple dice game, but a brilliant way to bring everyone together for a morning of fun, laughter, and friendly competition. 😊

A little rain was never going to stop the fun at Magdalen House ☔🎶

On Thursday, we were all set for a lovely picnic outside, but the weather had other ideas. So, in true Magdalen style, we brought the picnic indoors and enjoyed our very own “no al fresco” treat instead.

The fantastic and ever-lovely D’Artagnan joined us to entertain and sing, creating a wonderful afternoon full of music, smiles and good company.

Who needs sunshine when you have songs, treats and togetherness? 💛

We’ll be honest, any time animals are around the Trust, it is always going to be a strong contender for our favourite moment of the week.

This lovely moment from Kimbrose, when Walks with Hawks came in to visit, was just too special not to share.

There is something wonderful about seeing our club members light up around animals, whether it is curiosity, calm, laughter, or just pure joy. Moments like this remind us how powerful these visits can be.

A huge thank you to Walks with Hawks for such a memorable experience. 💚

🩸 World Blood Donor Day

Today is World Blood Donor Day, a chance to say thank you to the people who give blood and help save lives.

In a care and community setting, we are reminded every day how much kindness, compassion and small acts of generosity can mean to others. Giving blood is one of those incredible acts that many people may never see the result of, but for someone, somewhere, it can make all the difference.

To everyone who gives blood, has given blood, or is thinking about becoming a donor, thank you. ❤️

One drop of humanity. Give blood. Save lives.
