A partnership between Age UK and Dunelm, the Community Fund aims to create communities that feel like home for older people. Our localised role in this is to support older people in Gloucestershire to access the vital information and benefits they're entitled to 💙

Booking for this year's free NHS flu vaccine is now open, with appointments for people aged 65 and over, unpaid carers and frontline staff starting on 1 October.

We had the best time at Brimscombe Mill, joining The Older Drivers Forum for Gloucestershire for their ‘International Day of Older People’ celebration on October 1st 💙

The event was full to the brim with local people, over 20 local organisations, plus pay-as-you-can refreshments and a tombola! Thank you to everyone who contributed to the event, also to GOPA (Gloucestershire Older Persons Association) and The Grace Network for organising it.

Last Thursday we marked International Day of Older People at this fantastic Rethinking Ageism Together event which brought together local representatives from charities, NHS, Councillors and the voluntary sector.

We discussed and shared ideas about everything from ageism today to how we can help older people to access to the support and information they need and how to recognise the contribution older people can make in their communties.

Amazing speakers, lively round-table discussions and plenty of ideas generated. Thank you to everyone who contributed.

As one of the four charities collaborating to create an Age Friendly Cotswolds we're excited about continuing these conversations and helping to create communities where older people in the Cotswolds can thrive as they age.
