Gloucestershire Centre for Environmental Records

Gloucestershire Centre for Environmental Records Gloucestershire's unique source of biodiversity information GCER has over two million species records in its databases. The data is used for a range of purposes.

Many of these are supplied by experts including specialist County Recorders. We are particularly grateful to Gloucestershire Naturalists’ Society for their recorders' support. We also have a large database of site data on Local Wildlife Sites, Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust Nature Reserves and other places of interest for wildlife sightings and habitats. It helps conservation organisations to iden

tify priorities for action and it is used by planners to help ensure that wildlife is not harmed by development. It is also used by consultants working for developers who need to take wildlife into account at the outset. Students, community groups and members of the public can also make use of the GCER data.
