Youth Engaged in Wetlands - YEW at work contributing to The Convention on Wetlands COP15 last year 👏

🎉Happy International Youth Day!

The Convention on Wetlands is committed to empowering young people as active leaders in wetland conservation and ensuring their voices are represented in decision-making.

This commitment was strengthened with the adoption of Resolution XIV.12, “Strengthening Ramsar Connections through Youth,” at COP14 in November 2022.

It marked the first formal resolution dedicated to youth engagement, creating a framework for greater youth participation in global wetland conservation and policy.

We are writing from the IUCN SSC Centre for Species Survival on Human Dimensions (CSS Human Dimensions), a partnership between the IUCN SSC and Wilder Institute, which supports the connections between people and wildlife for both species conservation and human well-being.
