At Community Connexions, we provide transport for people of all ages across Gloucestershire and beyond who would otherwise struggle to get where they need to go. Community Connexions provides transport services to many different groups within local communities. We particularly focus on carrying vulnerable groups of people to schools, supermarkets, hospital appointments, day centres and events. We operate throughout Cheltenham, Gloucester, Stroud, Tewkesbury and surrounding areas, and will continue to expand into those areas we people need more support in getting around.

We are looking for volunteer drivers in Cheltenham and Gloucester; can you help?

Loneliness and isolation are growing problems in the UK, especially in rural areas, and reliable transport plays a crucial role in helping people feel part of their community.

Our services simply wouldn’t run without volunteers. Every lift you give helps someone get to an appointment, see family or enjoy everyday activities many of us take for granted.

Some photos from our video shoot; new video coming soon. We spent a day in and around Cheltenham and Gloucester, filming a volunteer going about their day. It should be an entertaining and informative piece for those wishing to use the service and for anyone considering volunteer driving with us.

Community Connexions is an award winning charity that provides accessible transport solutions to local communities in Gloucestershire. We are currently seeking Part-time and Relief Minibus Drivers to support routes we are running in the North Cotswolds area of Gloucestershire, exact location to be confirmed, likely to be Stow on the Wold.

Candidates will have

• a high standard of driving
• excellent communication skills and be a team player with a
• flexible, friendly and caring attitude.
• Experience in passenger transport is desirable.
• A valid D1 on your Driving Licence is essential.

Successful candidates will have direct contact with passengers so an Enhanced DBS check is compulsory as is MIDAS (Minibus) training.

The hours will be for 26 hours+ doing shifts from 6.5 to 12 hours, Monday to Saturday, between 06.30am and 19.30pm, including some bank holidays.

Community Connexions is an award winning charity that provides accessible transport solutions to local communities in Gloucestershire. We are currently seeking Part-time and Relief Minibus Drivers to support routes we are running in the North Cotswolds area of Gloucestershire, exact location to be confirmed, likely to be Stow on the Wold.

Drivers will have direct contact with passengers so an Enhanced DBS check is compulsory. Candidates will have a high standard of driving with excellent communication skills and be a team player with a flexible, friendly and caring attitude. Experience in passenger transport is desirable. A valid D1 on your Driving Licence is essential. You will also undertake MIDAS (Minibus) training and customer service/equipment training arranged by Community Connexions.

The hours will be for a minimum of 26 hours, doing shifts from 6.5 to 12 hours, Monday to Saturday, between 06.30am and 19.30pm, including some bank holidays. Drivers need to be flexible working in a team and liasing with each other to cover shifts, holiday/sickness etc. Saturdays paid at time and a half and Bank holidays paid at double time.

This role is offered for 3 years but may be extended.
