You’re invited: 11th Gloucester (Hucclecote) Scouts – Annual General Meeting

Summer is nearly over, and we are gearing up to start the new term. We hope you have all had a great break and are refreshed. (to be honest, I would not have minded some rain!)

Please join us for the 11th Gloucester (Hucclecote) Scouts Annual General Meeting.

Date: Sunday 20th September 2026 10.30am
Venue: Cranham Scout Centre, Cranham Close, GL4 8HP

This year’s AGM is being held as part of our annual Parent and Child camp. Our Sunday morning session is normally dedicated to a reflective session, but this year our intention is to use that time to host our AGM and celebrate the Groups achievements. Even if you are not camping with us this year, we would love to welcome you. Just let Richard Holmes know in advance, so we can manage parking. ([email protected])

Whether you’re a parent/carer, leader, young person (over 18), or supporter, your presence really matters. The AGM is our chance to celebrate the past year, thank our volunteers, and make the appointments that keep our Group strong for the year ahead. Please reply to this message to let us know you’re coming.

- Approve minutes from the AGM held on 23rd September 2025
- Adopt the model constitution (POR)
- Note the Group’s financial year, approve appointed/community members of the Group Scout Council, agree Trustee Board size and future meeting quorums
- Year in review: Group Lead Volunteer’s report and District remarks
- Annual Report & Accounts: receive and consider the Group Trustee Board report and statement of accounts
- Appointments: Group Chair, Group Treasurer, Trustee Board members, and Auditor
- Closing remarks

In addition, we are always very pleased to welcome new members to the Trustee Board and/or the teams that help us in many areas such as running events, maintaining our HQ, manage our kit and equipment etc. Any time you can give is very welcome and putting yourself forward does not necessarily mean attending meetings!

We would be grateful if you could complete the form by 6 September so it gives us time to prep everything of the AGM. If you are already a Trustee Board member, please complete the form too.

Registration to join Gloucester Gang Show 2027 is open!

Do you love to sing? Do you enjoy a good dance? Do you like to make new friends? Gloucester Gang Show might just be the place for you!

Main Gang members will be 9+ years old by Sunday 28th March 2027. You need to be a member of Scouting or Girlguiding to join. Registrations for Main Gang close on 31st August 2026. Auditions are Sunday 6th September 2026.

Mini Gang members will be aged between 6 and 9 years old by Sunday 28th March. Children aged between 9 and 11 (in primary school) may choose if they’d prefer to be in Mini or Main Gang. Mini Gang registrations close on Sunday 29th November 2026. Auditions will be held on Sunday 6th December.

*Main Gang rehearsals begin Wednesday 9th September. They are every Wednesday before Christmas and Wednesdays and Sundays after Christmas.

*Mini Gang rehearsals begin on Sunday 13th December 2026 and continue after Christmas from Sunday 3rd January. Rehearsals are every week until the show.

Thursday Beavers had a fantastic celebration evening for their final summer term meeting this evening, celebrating 40 years of Beavers with lots of fun and silly activities and wearing their special tie dye T-shirts they created!

Some of our Beavers had an absolutely brilliant time at Discover in Cirencester Park yesterday! Thank you to the Strategy & Evolution team for putting on such an exciting event!

If your answer is yes, then we have just the event for you! We are holding a taster evening, where you can experience singing, dancing and some acting like you would if you joined our cast! It’s a great opportunity for you to be able to test the waters before registering to become a cast member!

Our Thursday Beavers had a fantastic time on their Safari themed sleepover this weekend! Lots of craft activities, a challenge hike, den building, wide games, problem solving challenges, campfire singing and, of course, toasting marshmallows for s'mores!
