What a fantastic evening at our Blackbridge Tuesday Youth Group earlier this week! 🌭🌈

Our young people made delicious sausage rolls completely from scratch – and they looked amazing!

We were also treated to a beautiful double rainbow over Blackbridge, making for a perfect end to the evening. 🌈🌈

There has also been lots of excitement around our "Name the Tuesday Group" Competition. We've already received some brilliant suggestions, and there's still time to enter!

📢JOB OPPORTUNITY

Our colleagues over at Freedom Leisure are recruiting for a Community Connector to help make a real difference in Podsmead.

The role will be based at our wonderful Blackbridge Community and Sports Hub but will be out and about, building relationships with local organisations, supporting residents to access activities and services, reducing barriers to participation, and helping people improve their health, wellbeing and social connections.

The role closes for applications this Friday, 12 June, so if you're interested do put in your application or get in touch if you have any questions!

⭐️We’d love for residents to come and join us and Gloucestershire Wildlife Trust this afternoon (Wednesday 13th May) to start some tree planting in Podsmead! 🍃

Today’s planting will mark the start of some fantastic new nature and biodiversity work in the area as part of the Neighbourhood Nature project - more details coming soon!

📍Shakespeare Avenue / Hathaway Close

Equipment will be provided, just wear suitable clothing and footwear 🥾

🥳Thank you to everyone that came along to celebrate the first anniversary of the Blackbridge Community and Sports Hub with us yesterday!

⚽Great to see a full house at Walking Football to kick the day off!

🧘Some great free taster classes thanks to our colleagues at Freedom Leisure

🍰And a wonderful tea and cake party kindly hosted by our friends at One Church Podsmead (who run a café at the hub every Friday, so do pop along!)

Thanks to Gloucestershire and The Crypt School for coming by too.

🎉To mark the milestone, Freedom Leisure and Blackbridge Charitable Community Benefit Society are inviting all local residents to come along and experience the facility for free, and join us for a celebratory tea and cake party with free refreshments hosted by One Church Podsmead.
