Future proofing the WI - our four year strategy

17/09/2026

The topic of our September meeting was brain health.

Did you know, the heart pumps approx. 1 litre of blood to the brain every minute!💡

Physical exercise, mental health and well being all play a role in keeping your brain healthy.

Did you know social interactions are key to good mental health and well being, and connectedness is at the heart of the WI. Chatting while on the go with friends keeps us healthy, along with good food. Thank you to Prof Colin Terrell for a fun and insightful talk about practical ways to keep your brain healthy for longer 👍🏻

111 years of the WI in England Wales and the Isles!

16/09/2026

Tonight on WI Day, we celebrated 111 years of the WI movement, celebrated a special birthday of one of our members, ate birthday cake baked and decorated by a fellow member, and listened to a superb talk on brain health and what is actually involved in keeping our brains in tip top condition. Thank you to Prof Colin Terrell and to all our members who wore purple or lilac to show support for our fantastic organisation 🙌
