Well what a Storyteller Jeanne proved to be telling us how her Handy Handbag project began through to her being awarded the British Empire Medal!
In average she gives out 2 happy handbags per day and 1 “happy” such as clothing, baby items.
All these given out through organisations such as The Nelson Trust, The Family Haven, Eastwood Park and many others.

Members had brought a huge selection of toiletries, bags etc for Jeanne to take away.

At Happy Handbag they aim to provide a handbag containing personal/hygiene items to women in time of great hardship and/or homelessness.

If you can please bring along a donation …shower gel, shampoo and conditioner or 2in1, deodorant, toothpaste, sanitary products and new knickers for the handbag.

Come along - 7.30pm Coaley Village Hall.
Visitors welcome £4 which includes a welcome drink.

At Happy Handbag they aim to provide a handbag containing ladies personal/hygiene items to women in time of great hardship and/or homelessness.

If you can please bring along a donation …shower gel, shampoo, deodorant, toothpaste for the handbag.

At our meeting Wed 20th May 7.30pm we will hear about The Happy Handbag Scheme which aims to provide a handbag containing ladies personal/hygiene items to women in time of great hardship and/or homelessness.
Visitors welcome £4 which includes a welcome drink.

At the meeting we would like to collect donations for the handbags such as:
Shower gel, Shampoo and conditioner (or 2 in 1), Deodorant, Toothpaste,
Sanitary products and
New knickers.
If you aren’t able to make the meeting there will be a basket in Coaley Community Shop for donations.

Phew what a busy WI Cafe and Plant Swap weekend! A BIG Thank you to everyone who came along and supported us 💕
Funds raised go towards charity donations we make later in the year as well as helping fund our local WI .

Coaley Plant Swap – Day One!

What a wonderful start to the weekend! It was lovely to see familiar faces, have a catch-up, and exchange plenty of chat and gardening tips along the way.
Thank you to everyone who came along and helped make the day so enjoyable—and for helping raise much-needed funds for charity too.

Tables are being topped up for tomorrow, and WI members are busy baking more of their delicious cakes, so there’s still lots to look forward to. If you didn’t make it today, do come along and join us!
