🏆 Today we had our annual Christmas competition 🏆

A smaller one this year but equally as epic and chaotic as usual 😂

We put Sensei Caitlin in charge of planning the categories and we went all Strictly Come Dancing and scored kata with paddles 🪩

The fighting rounds were awesome, excellent *diagonal* movement everyone 😀

Competitor of the day was Ebony and she also won Most Dedicated Student 2025

Joe won the kata comp and took home Most Improved Student 2025

Laurie took first place in fighting 🥊

And Luke was Student of the Year for 2025!

Everyone has absolutely smashed it today and all year so well done team!

See you all back on the 11th January 2026 🙂

All the instructors have been impressed with Cleo’s progress over the last few months and it’s come from her being willing to try new things and take on challenges, where she once struggled to do so. Keep it up Cleo!

In the last few months Luke’s technique has improved massively and we’re all very impressed!
He is a great human to have in the dojo, always helping the younger students and keeping the seniors in line 😂

🏆 Today was our end of year competition and annual awards for 2024 🏆

This year we had a chaotic Pairs Kata competition in the middle of our usual kata and fighting categories. We partnered people up randomly and gave them 5 minutes to practice a kata and then attempt to do it in sync with each other! Everyone did great, even Louis who was the unlucky person to be partnered with Wayne 🤣

The competition was the closest it has ever been, with most kata rounds resulting in a split decision and the kumite bouts being very high scoring on both sides. We were super impressed with the number of head kicks on show! Hopefully the trophies are a more acceptable size this year parents 🤣

Annual awards this year went as follows:
Competitor of the day- Ebony
Most improved student- Jake
Most dedicated student- Luke
Student of the year- Ava

We are extremely grateful to all members past and present for supporting our club and making it a super fun place to train 😀 and to all our members families for bringing them along to the club 🥋
