It's Perth Model Railway Exhibition this weekend, held as usual in the excellent venue of the Dewars Centre adjacent to Perth station.
We're very much looking forward to attending Scotland's Summer Show once again, this time with our N-gauge micro-layout Newcastle Triangle.

Together with some work in the fiddle yard we have been busy converting the upper line to an automatic tram line. We ask ourselves: will the constant march of A.I. ever be stopped?

A selection of the layouts at The Scottish Festival of Railway Modelling at the Braehead Arena on the 23rd and 24th of May. An excellent larger show with a good selection of large and small layouts hosted by Renfrewshire Model Railway Club.

Our Thornton Glen layout was opposite the fantastic action-packed Museum of Transport layout - as a result we spent all weekend listening to a pleasant playlist of brass band music. If your author had known that in advance I might've gone for a Yorkshire theme when choosing my trains!

A new addition to our exhibition calendar this year is the grandly-titled Scottish Festival of Railway Modelling to be held in the Braehead Arena this weekend. We will be attending with our large 00-gauge layout Thornton Glen at this show hosted by Renfrewshire Model Railway Club.

Such a short two weeks after our own exhibition it was hardly worth putting trains away!

On behalf of everyone involved in our exhibition on the 9th & 10th May we would like to thank all of our visitors for coming to see our show and making it such a great success!
The Silver Link Trophy - as voted by our visitors - was awarded to 'Laurencekirk' from Perth Model Railway Club; while the shield - as voted by our club committee - was awarded to 'Westbourne' from Chris Scobie and Dave Watson.
Also a big Thank You to our youngest member - Duncan - and his family for bringing in his new layout as an excellent debut exhibit at the last minute. Very impressive!
Without the continued support of all such events would not be viable so we're very grateful and we look forward to seeing you all again soon, whether it be next year or at the many other exhibitions taking place between now and then.
Cheers

This weekend its our annual grand exhibition in The Lomond Centre. Along with showing one or two of our own layouts, we will also have a selection of layouts from other clubs throughout Scotland.

Now is always the time to add to your collection, so we've got you covered with our Bring & Buy stand and a variety of traders. You can also try your luck on our generous tombola and who knows what you'll end up with!

Plus on Sunday 10th May ONLY there's a FREE vintage bus link to our venue! And as if that's not enough, we also have on board catering offering a selection of filled rolls, tea and cakes.

So a great day out for all the family, and remember kids go FREE!
The bus service is provided by our friends at Fife Heritage Railway’s vintage bus group and SN04 NHC Preservation - please see the attached timetable for more details.

A selection of the layouts at The Lothians Model Railway Exhibition last weekend - it was certainly a good wee show hosted by Pentland Model Railway Group.

As we're now well into April that means that our own show is coming along soon. Stay tuned for details...........

We're being kept on our toes this year, as this weekend it's the Lothians Model Railway Exhibition just outside Edinburgh on the 11th & 12th April. Once again it's in the Student’s Union at Heriot-Watt University so there's oodles of free parking, plenty of bus route options, and good road access (as it’s just four minutes from the Edinburgh city bypass).

This year we will be attending with our N-gauge micro-layout Newcastle Triangle which has had a little improvement work done since its last outing.

Here's a selection of photos of some of the excellent layouts at the 60th Anniversary Model Rail Scotland covering a wide range of locations and eras from clubs all over the UK and beyond. Once again an excellent show professionally put together by the Association of Model Railway Societies in Scotland (AMRSS) so very well done to all involved.
