We have had some concerns brought to us about rats in the area.

Unfortunately the rat issue is a city wide issue and is an ongoing battle.

We would encourage everyone that has or suspect rats in the area, to report it to Glasgow city council ASAP.
You can contact them either on their website Glasgow City Council by telephone on 0141 287 1059 or the GCC app attached below πŸ‘‡
app navigation : more / environment / pest control.

We understand that this is a frustrating issue and comes with health and safety concerns, that is why it is so important for us to all be reporting these issues by the methods that are in place.
We know that some do use these methods but for a issue to be a issue it needs mass reporting and that's where you, the community come in.

There is also another way the community can prevent rats,
NO FLYTIPPING

Flytipping is one of the main reason that we have a vermin problem.
I need to ask, who's doing it ? The community that's who, that's the sad part about this problem.

When did we start having no pride in our area? When did we start to disrespect OUR area?

What kind of place are we leaving for the kids and their kids to grow up in ?
I, like many can remember growing up in a lovely little place that we all took care of, and pride in.

Please help us at the Milton Community Council to better our home, give the kids the chance that you had growing up here.

We can't do this on our own and it does start with us all.
We hope you will all get on board with us, to give Milton a chance at a brighter future for you and your children.

We understand that change takes time and some hard work, but, we can absolutely do it together.

On Tuesday we also had the pleasure of meeting the designer of our community logo, from Chirnsyde primary School ☺️
It was great to meet her and the massive smile she had when seeing her logo on our lanyards 'that's my picture' 😁 it's sure is, and we want to again thank you for allowing the community to use it, just wait till you see the t-shirt and banners πŸ€—

After the success of the Big Clean on Tuesday, I was passing the next day and it was great to see that all rubbish had been picked up by the lovely Maria Glasgow City Council and our fantastic neighbourhood NETS team from Wheatley Homes Glasgow get team work by the organisations that work in our area.

Working together with the people of Milton for a brighter future.

However, as can be seen by the final photo, someone had already flytipped, how disappointing!! And I'll say it, SHAME on that person!! That's all, just SHAME !!

We will be arranging more clean ups in May why? because MILTON MATTERS!!
So keep your eye on the page.
