Today we celebrated Little Locals Playgroup’s 1st Birthday!! 🥳 One whole year! 🤩

When the kids were going to bed tonight, I started to look back at the photos on my phone of our Little Locals sessions, from the first photo in August 2025 all the way until now. I was hit with the best feeling ever… I’m so proud. I’m proud I started this wee group but more so I feel so proud of the community we have all created 🧸 It’s been hard work behind the scenes, but what a pleasure it’s been, esp with so many families coming together to support each other 💜 There’s a saying “everyone wants a village but no one wants to be the villager”…Well, we’ve found our village and it’s bursting at the seems with villagers 🫶🏼

New term, new look, new opportunities! 🧸

Our playgroup is ran by the families who attend. Everyone pitches in, but as all great things do they need some do ming a little bit more behind the scenes or during sessions! We’re always looking for help. Whither you’re looking for work experience, are in between jobs, are retired - we want to hear from you!

We are also always looking for exciting sessions for our wee ones. Do you have a skill you can share? Are you an artist, storyteller, aspiring teacher, a keen gardener, an aspiring medic practitioner, a science expert, a sportsperson or anyone who can inspire little minds? Then please get in touch with Little Locals!

…and that’s a wrap!! Our first EVER playgroup term, 2025-2026! 🎉🧸

Massive thank you to my AMAZING team Gemma⁩ and Dianne, who we truly couldnt do this without! What an amazing time we’ve all had over the past 10 months!

Thank you to everyone for coming along, setting out toys, clearing up, washing cups, brushing up snacks, helping mind kids who’re not yours, supporting a tired parent, singing, dancing and just generally being wonderful - you all truly make this community playgroup so special!

A special shout out of good luck to our three wee ones going to school in August, thank you for the fun an we all wish you the best of luck at primary school 🥹

We hope you and your wee ones have a lovely summer, looking forward to seeing you all again in August if not before 💜

🌻 Sunflower Planting workshop, by Spell

We paired up with lovely team at Spell again today, where our Little Locals were treated to a sunflower planning workshop! It was brilliant! The kids, mostly aged 2-5, participated in the workshop - and even got to take home their little sunflower pot!! 💜

We’d love to see how they grow, please tag us in any growth you might spot in your sunflower pot!

We always love a Spell session, and today we were super impressed when all the boys and girls sat around calmly, with excellent listening skills, at the end for story time! 📚
