Craigton Week of Action W/B Monday 8th June
Neighbourhoods, Regeneration and Sustainability (NRS) are carrying out Weeks of Action across the city as part of a rolling programme to help tackle environmental concerns within our communities. Our Neighbourhood Coordinator, Megyn Cameron and Glasgow South sector Coordinator Karen Venables are working with NRS services to coordinate an environmental Week of Action in Craigton, Pollokshields, which will commence on Monday 8th June.
Locations within the ward have been identified using analytical data, operational information and community feedback, particularly the Craigton Community Council. The number of streets included in each individual week of action are always dependent on the needs and geography of each area.
Targeted streets will include, but are not limited to: Torbreck Street, Bunessan Street, Jura Street, Barfillan Drive, Barlogan Avenue, Bellahouston Drive. Moness Drive, Maryland Gardens and sections of Paisley Road West.
Services that will be deployed during the week will include:
• Public Health
• Commercial Enforcement
• Streetscene
• Neighbourhood Team
• Community Enforcement Officers
• Neighbourhood Improvement and Enforcement Services (NIES)
• Graffiti Removal
A Community Litter Pick has been arranged for Tuesday 9th June, outside Craigton Primary, which the community is welcome to join, with more information on the attached community flyer.
We will also request support and assistance from our partners in Police Scotland, Housing Associations, local community groups and residents to help promote a positive and more sustainable outcome.
A Pollokshields Ward area partnership engagement and information stall also will be held at Carsaig Drive (at the fire path down to Barfillan Drive) on Thursday 11th from 10am-12pm.
Environmental Visual Audits will be undertaken by the Neighbourhood Liaison Team the week before and after this initiative.
