๐ CHRISTMAS COMMUNITY REVIEW & THANK YOU ๐
We are so very proud to announce that Glasgowโs Spirit of Christmas 2025 childrenโs gift campaign is now officially closed until 1st October 2026.
๐
Words cannot convey the gratitude we are feeling right now for EVERY member, supporter, volunteer, charity partner, organisation and local business for being a part of our kind community that will make a difference for so many children on Christmas Day.
๐
Despite the increase in the cost of living, the kindness weโve seen and experienced during these past 3 months has been truly magical and inspirational to support children and families who are struggling this year.
๐
HEARTFELT THANKS TO EACH OF YOU FOR YOUR CONTINUED SUPPORT & KINDNESS โค
๐
We are delighted to share that this compassionate giving community for a 12th consecutive year came together to protect the spirit and magic of Christmas with;
๐ Approx 119,063 toys and gift donations
๐ Ensuring 17,009 local children will wake up on Christmas morning to a visit from Santa
๐ Each childโs Secret Santa donated on average 7 toys or gifts in a Christmas Gift bag for each child with a gift value of approx. ยฃ38 (and in many cases much more than this) making ยฃ646,342 in total gift value.
๐ These are being distributed across 108 charity partners in and around Glasgow
๐
Over the past 12 annual campaigns, together we have supported;
โญ 158,098 children
โญ 1,167,686 toys and gifts
โญ ยฃ5,893,342 in total gift value
๐
This is a truly wonderful achievement and a very conservative figure as we know many more gifts were reported as being handed into our charity partners this year, without being pledged through the Christmas Portal and which, unfortunately we cannot account for in the above figures.
๐
This is something we'll raise more awareness of in 2026 to encourage everyone to use our unique portal which is built to ensure required genders and age groups of referred children go to the charity partners that need them, and at the same time prevent gifts going to places where they are not needed. This will help ensure more children in and around Glasgow receive a visit from a โSecret Santaโ.
๐
We cannot thank you enough for your understanding and support in using the portal to help us successfully brighten the lives of so many more children in need each year.
๐
We hope youโve enjoyed taking part in this amazing community and have experienced the joy of being a childโs Secret Santa with Glasgowโs Spirit of Christmas. This is truly what Christmas is all about and we are so thankful for your continued support, generosity and your beautiful feedback which keep us going each year.
๐
Your Secret Santa act of kindness, will result in a child waking up on Christmas Day feeling excited because Santa came to their house this yearโฆ all because of you! Please take a moment on Christmas Day to think about the joy, hope and sense of worth youโve brought to each child you pledged for โค๐
โค
๐
Many special THANK YOUโs to come
We couldnโt deliver Glasgowโs Spirit of Christmas campaign without the help of so many kind and giving community members, volunteers, supporters and partnerships behind the scenes, so weโd like to honour everyoneโs contribution whether small or large, as it all adds up as a community to support the local children we receive referrals for each year.
๐
HEARTFELT THANKS to all the Volunteer Teams โ Your Support Means the World to Us ๐ซถ
Special thanks to volunteer Sandra Kirkwood for her ongoing support with this yearโs campaign including the late nights, early mornings and manual labour. Your input, contribution and laughter have been invaluable again this year. Thank you so much for supervising our Gift Manager โElvesโ.
Our team of 3rd year business students from The University of Strathclyde have done a brilliant job, very well done to Emma, Ellie, Caitlin, Katie, Alexandra, Abby, Grace, Rosie, Brooke and Anouk. We couldnโt have done it without your support โค

Massive thanks also to Graham Kirkwood for stepping in to drive Santaโs sleigh (kindly donated by Allied Vehicles) transporting all the gifts and toys purchased to fulfil gift pledge shortfalls at SANTA HQ. We couldn't have done it without each one of you and appreciate you so much ๐

We hope that you have loved being a Secret Santa this year with Glasgowโs Spirit of Christmas and that this campaign becomes a lifelong magical annual tradition to share with your loved ones and children each year to keep our hearts open and keep the true spirit of Christmas alive.
๐
We hope you are able to take this Christmas to spend time and really connect with the people you love and savour the moments of laughter, of connection, any heart felt exchanges, and let go with forgiveness anything less than love. To this end we leave you with a following quote;
๐
"Until one feels the spirit of Christmas, there is no Christmas. All else is outward display, so much tinsel and decorations. For it isn't the holly, it isn't the snow. It isn't the tree not the firelight's glow. It's the warmth that comes to the hearts of (wo)men when the Christmas spirit returns again."

๐
From the admin team and myself, we wish you all a happy and peaceful Christmas and a prosperous New Year filled with love, joy, hope, laughter and good health.
๐
Hope to see all of you Secret Santa's on the 1st October 2026 GSOC โ save the date! ๐๐
