🌟SUSTAINABILITY GRANT AWARDEES 2024🌟

Have a look at Ally, Thai, Kate, Hannah and Meli's amazing project! The group hosted an equinox community meal at SWG3 in September. They used some of the food waste to create a natural developer for film photographs they took at the meal.

If you're interested in pre-ordering a zine from them (it's really great!) before January you can do so at bit.ly/preorder_a_zine on a sliding scale from £5-£15

The Sustainability Grant initiative is run by The Bold Collective - Glasgow Youth Arts part of Creative Glasgow and is generously funded by Young Start at the National Lottery.

Join us to see the wonderful work of our Sustainability Grant Awardees! In June we awarded 6 grants of £500 to young people in Glasgow to pursue a project with sustainability at its core. We had an amazing cohort who used the grants to expand their practice and host workshops and events.

🍽️📷🧵Kitty, Thai, Ally, Hannah and Meli hosted community meals, with food waste being inventively used for fabric dyeing and photo developing.

💛Thai worked with children at two established community venues to create turmeric anthotypes, hosting discussions about the food system and our relationship with it.

🌾Julia is a costume designer and she has worked to create naturally made cordage, she has learnt from a foraging artist and has worked with a local community garden to collect materials.

📚After a risograph printing workshop we hosted Eilidh is working with Hot Pink Press to create a sustainably printed zine about their experience of chronic fatigue.

🌳Olivia’s project focuses on visualising research into carbon offset forests in Scotland, printing with charcoal.

Come and see their work at MILK’s new venue, 378 Cathcart Road on the 6th December between 5-7(4-6pm)

This event is free and unticketed, just pop down for a look and a chat! We’d love to see you there :) If you might like to apply for this fund or a similar one in the future, it’s a great chance to come and have a chat about the process of applying for and receiving funding, and carrying out community projects :)

Woohoo! Well done this lot!!
