we believe that creativity is more than making something beautiful, it’s a powerful tool for supporting mental health and emotional wellbeing.

Taking time to create can work wonders for the mind. Whether it’s painting, sewing, journaling, crafting, or making with your hands, creative activities can help to:

💚 Reduce stress and anxiety
💚 Improve mood and self-esteem
💚 Encourage mindfulness and focus
💚 Provide a healthy outlet for emotions
💚 Build confidence and connection

Creativity allows us to slow down, reconnect with ourselves, and express thoughts and feelings that are often hard to put into words. It offers a sense of purpose, achievement, and calm in an increasingly busy world.

This Mental Health Awareness Week, we’re celebrating the importance of making space for creativity in everyday life. You don’t need to be an artist, the simple act of creating can be deeply restorative.

So take some time for yourself. Pick up a paintbrush, needle and thread, pen, or any materials you have to hand. Let your imagination guide you, and notice how creativity can nurture your wellbeing.

We’re delighted to have received funding from North Lanarkshire Carers Together “Time for Me” fund 💛

This means that over the next year, we’ll be offering free creative wellbeing sessions for unpaid carers—creating space to pause, connect, and focus on you.

Creative wellbeing isn’t just about making something beautiful—it’s about giving your mind a break, reducing stress, and expressing thoughts and feelings in a gentle, supportive way. Taking time to create can boost mood, build confidence, and offer a sense of calm that carries into everyday life.

If you’re an unpaid carer, this is your time 💫

Now is the perfect time to make dandelion honey 🌼🍯

Our garden is full of these amazing little flowers, and while we always leave plenty for the bees, we love gathering a handful to make our own golden, floral “honey.” It’s perfect stirred into tea, drizzled over toast, and my personal favourite..on warm morning porridge.

The best part? It’s so easy to make!

✨ Dandelion Honey Recipe

Ingredients:
• 2 cups fresh dandelion heads (fully open, yellow petals only if possible)
• 3 cups water
• 1 lemon (sliced)
• 2–2½ cups sugar

Steps: 1. Gently rinse the dandelion heads to remove any dirt or insects.
2. Add the yellow parts (no green) to a pot with the water and sliced lemon.
3. Bring to a gentle boil, then simmer for about 20–30 minutes.
4. Remove from heat and let it steep for several hours (or overnight for stronger flavour).
5. Strain the liquid through a sieve or cloth, pressing to extract all the goodness.
6. Return the liquid to the pot, add sugar, and simmer gently until it thickens to a honey-like consistency (about 30–60 minutes).
7. Pour into a clean jar and let it cool, watch it turn into liquid sunshine ✨

Enjoy a taste of spring in every spoonful 💛

You can usually spot her in brightly coloured clothes, out collecting litter… because to Emma, it’s not rubbish — it’s just art waiting to happen.
