Some photos taken at the fabulous Arran Society of Glasgow lunch, our social event this year, which took place at Glasgow Grand Central Hotel yesterday. Amazing food & service.
We were delighted to hear from investigative journalist Mark Daly, who proposed the Toast to the Isle of Arran. Other entertainment came from recipient Harry Gilmore, Isle of Arran Music School and Charlie Gilmore. Over £1,250 was raised through a raffle and Charlie doing a keepy uppy challenge, all helping the Society to help our recipients 😁

The Arran Society were delighted to support the children’s workshop programme during the Arran International Festival of Chamber Music & Song 2025. Richard Morrison, Festival Director said:

“We’re very grateful to the Arran Society of Glasgow for supporting our children’s workshops at AIF2025. Their generosity helped us bring music, art, and creativity to young people across Arran — nurturing joy, confidence, imagination, and a shared sense of community through the arts.”

Delighted to be able to support Isle of Arran Music School!

🎉🎉🎉 Some more fantastic funding news!! The Arran Society of Glasgow have awarded us £1000 towards the new sets of pipes we need for our increasing amount of pipers.

🎶🎶🎶 This with £900 from Eilidh’s Trust gets us even closer to our target to get 3 sets of bagpipes.

🙏🙏🙏 Thankyou again to our fantastic funders, if interested in how we fund our projects for over 120 children and young adults of the Island for almost £75,000 per year, have a look at the ‘Funders’ page of our website.

Society Directors were delighted to attend the Arran High School prizegiving this week. Here are pics of some of the awards we have sponsored. The Endeavour awards are awarded to each year group; the Dr Donald Brown award is for outstanding poetry. The Society also supported six JDMacKinnon awards for further education and apprenticeships. Congratulations to all recipients!
