Another great event today, this time in partnership with the Special Collections team at Glasgow Life Libraries and researchers from Strathclyde University exploring the benefits of library-linked themed walks.

Today's theme was 'Murder, Poison and Justice' focusing on 4 notorious Glasgow murders that took place between 1857 and 1908. After a fascinating talk and the chance to view historic artefacts, we headed out to visit the sites where these grisly crimes took place.

To finish, participants were invited to decide whether the correct verdicts had been reached by the courts. A brilliant way to bring history, storytelling and walking together.

What does wellbeing look like in Glasgow?

It looks like people of all ages coming together to move, connect and have fun 💙

Our Medal Mile event welcomed everyone - from school pupils to care home residents - to the Glasgow International Arena this morning for an inclusive, inter-generational walk focused on connection and wellbeing 💙

As a charity, Glasgow Life is proud to create opportunities that help people stay active, feel connected and improve their wellbeing – together.

🎉 National Volunteer Week 🎉

Meet Lydia from Shettleston Harriers , one of the incredible volunteers at the club 💙

For Lydia, volunteering is about so much more than giving her time. It’s about the friendships she’s made, the strong sense of community that comes from being part of the club and the positive impact it has on her health and wellbeing.

We're so grateful for volunteers like Lydia who help create welcoming, supportive spaces for everyone to feel included 🧡 Thank you Lydia!

💙 Volunteer Spotlight – Meet Bruce 💙

Bruce joined our Health Walks programme in early 2025 and hasn’t looked back since. 🚶‍♂️

In his own words, Bruce shares why he got involved and what keeps him coming back:

'I get to meet some great people. It’s not a job, it’s a pleasure – and I look forward to it every week. I’m usually over 10,000 steps after a walk, so the health benefits are clear! It gives you a real sense of pride helping people stay active and make friends – for many, it’s a lifeline.'

Bruce’s story shows the powerful impact volunteering can have – building connections, improving wellbeing and supporting others in the community. 🌟
