Our laser quest battle brings an end to another amazing term packed full of fun, adventure and achievement!

Cubs have worked hard to earn loads of badges, enjoyed fantastic sleepovers, and made unforgettable memories on our weekend camps.

As always, none of this is possible without our incredible leadership team, including our amazing young leaders, who volunteer their time so generously!

🥳 WEDNESDAY CUBS AND BEAVERS 🥳

Last night, Wednesday Cubs and Beavers headed to Lapwing Lodge for our end-of-term celebrations.

We enjoyed a big BBQ, laser tag and inflatables, and ended the night with some impromptu dancing led by our Young Leaders.

On that note, a special mention to the Young Leaders, who have been phenomenal — not just last night, leading activities, helping with the BBQ and generally bringing the vibes, but all term. Each and every one of them has been fully engaged in enhancing the Cubs experience, and we are so grateful for all they do.

We also gave out some badges and said goodbye to our oldest Cubs, but we look forward to seeing many of them as they move on to Scouts.

It’s been a wonderful year, and this was a truly fantastic way to end it. 😊

Huge congratulations to Jamie, Jack, Cooper, Joseph and Toby who all recieved their Chief Scout Gold Award.

🌎🌎🗺🗺 Monday Scouts 🗺🗺🌎🌎

Last night the Troop took to streets of Busby. Clarkston & Giffnock in our Race Across The World style challenge.

With no mobile phones, a limited budget, a trusty bus pass and a map, the partrols raced to 4 checkpoints across the area using foot, train and bus.

To.win minutes back at each checkpoint the Scouts were given the opportunity to take part on some challenges as they raced berween each location.

Well.done to our winning patrol, Charlottes Pirates, who were first back to the Scout Hall to sign the book and take glory.

Welcome to Camp Hawkins, where summer is turned uʍop ǝpᴉsd∩

Our Wednesday Cubs headed off for a summer camp experience, which quickly went south as we discovered signs of interdimensional activity across the camp! Together, we cracked codes, searched for monsters, and united the party in a day of adventure which culminated in an epic final battle in the Upside Down with the Mindflayer!

With the evil defeated, our Cubs were able to settle down with a roaring campfire, and a trip to the Hawk for an era accurate screening of E.T.!

Stops in our trip to Hawkins included visits to Benny’s Burgers, Scoops Ahoy, and Surfer Boys Pizza! And, of course, we had eggos for breakfast!

The cherry on top of our Stranger Things themed camp was the untethered devotion from our cubs who dressed to the elevens all weekend in 80s attire and some very accurate costumes!

Thank you to all our cubs, and a big shout out to all our volunteers for their incredible efforts this weekend, including, but not limited to- Callum Douglas and the Young Leaders who constructed a 2m tall mindflayer; Emily Hamilton, who opened a gate to the upside down, and Pamela Mowat for her hard work in sourcing Surfer Boys pizza and Scoops Ahoy ice cream!

🏕️ WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY BEAVERS 🏕️

Our beaver groups teamed up this weekend for an unforgettable camp at Lapwing Lodge!

Our weekend was a whirlwind of unforgettable memories, including crate stacking, nature painting, and lots of time outdoors! We braved some mixed weather in our waterproofs and found time to enjoy a water fight with our friends at Cubs, and a walk in the river where did what beavers do best- built a dam!

It was an action packed camp and our Beavers were MARVELOUS every step of the way!

For Volunteer Week the Thursday Scouts helped the adult team by drying out the mess tent and shelters after the weekend’s camp, washed cars, litter picked, audited repairs in the hall and made us tea ☕️
We also awarded Gold Awards, Senior Patrol Leaders, Patrol Leaders, and Assistant Patrol Leaders as well as giving out 167 badges earned this term by the troop.

FRIDAY CUBS
Our Cubs had an action-packed adventure weekend full of excitement and fun! They paddled through kayaking challenges, reached new heights with crate stacking, learned essential survival skills, and enjoyed plenty of games along the way. With teamwork, laughter, and lots of adventure, it was definitely a weekend to remember!
