Beatson Cancer Charity

Beatson Cancer Charity We exist to enhance the experience, treatment, outcomes and wellbeing of all current and former Beatson patients and their families.

We want to make things better for everyone affected by cancer. Firstly by ensuring the best care for the 8,000 patients seen by the Beatson every year and supporting their friends and family, and secondly by funding pioneering research which could lead to breakthroughs to help everyone in the UK living with cancer. Company Overview

The Beatson West of Scotland Cancer Centre in Glasgow is the seco

nd largest cancer treatment unit in the UK, and the busiest. Beatson Cancer Charity is the only charity exclusively dedicated to supporting the centre to help in the fight against cancer locally, nationally and internationally. After all, one in three people in the UK will be directly affected by cancer at some point in their lives – and more than two million people in the UK are currently living with it. At the heart of the charity is the passion and commitment of its people, striving to help beat cancer. So we raise money for cancer treatment, care and research – three quarters of a million pounds each year, for instance, goes on funding extra staff. Clinical nurses and radiography staff who give the best possible service to people going through the traumatic, stressful and life-changing experience of having cancer. The charity also supports the centre’s clinical and laboratory research, looking into the causes of cancer and investigating possible new treatments. General Information

“My dad didn’t get the chance to say he was cancer-free, but I can, and we always want to give back to an amazing charity who have helped us so much” 💛

In 2024, Natalie and John Forrest lost their dad after an incredible fight with cancer. Just eight months later, Natalie was diagnosed with Acute Myeloid Leukaemia herself.

Following serious complications and a lifesaving stem cell transplant from her brother, John, Natalie is now in remission.

Natalie’s memorial golf day is a special way to keep her dad’s memory alive at his favourite place, Sandyhills Golf Club. 💛

The event has raised £6,620 since 2024, with Natalie and John raising a further £3,575 through Off the Beatson Track.

Sandyhills Golf Club has supported Beatson Cancer Charity since 2017, raising more than £8,000 through their fundraising efforts. Kirsty was delighted to meet Captain John and receive this year’s £827 donation!

A huge thank you to Natalie, John and everyone at Sandyhills Golf Club for your continued support. It makes such a difference. 💛

We can help accelerate life-changing research...
We can help strengthen clinical development...
We can ensure more patients have access to pioneering clinical trials...

However, these advances don’t happen on their own.

Early-career doctors, clinicians and researchers need dedicated time, funding and support to develop new treatments and improve patient care.

We have an opportunity to support them.
With your help, we can launch a programme that will make this work possible.

Invest in a future where every patient in the west of Scotland has the chance of a better outcome: https://bit.ly/45knV4w
