After raising for a long time how unsafe this path is, and how dangerous and unfit for purpose it is for people who have no choice but to use it, it’ll be interesting to hear what certain local groups here in Acre and Summerston have to say about the recent announcement on the Acre path.

Hopefully those groups don’t forget the contribution they made at last year’s meeting, when officials asked directly for views on improving this crucial connection between Acre, Summerston and the main transport links.

It’ll be interesting to see if this is now presented as a great idea and a priority. 🤨

For over 2 months all of the building flood lights on block 63-71 and most on block 75-79 have been out. They were reported then and reported yet again yesterday. As a safety issue, these are the kind of things you’d expect to be dealt with swiftly.
Well seen its individual residents taking these matters to Wheatley as per. Well done.

Hopefully some can make it along

We are so grateful to The Royal Highland Fusiliers Museum for this incredible addition to our collection!

These heavy keys once belonged to the Maryhill Barracks, but what might they have unlocked? Our best guess is a gate or a large door.

See the keys, more objects and some photographs on display until 17th December.

📆Mon-Fri, 10am-5pm

Does this belong to anyone? Looks quite new.

🚦🚧 Acre Road Works Update 🚧🚦

You’ll no doubt have seen the temporary lights across from Acre House. These are in place because main sewer connections are being installed under the road.

⏳ The work is expected to take 6–8 weeks, and the contractors are doing their best to keep disruption to a minimum.

👍 So far, no delays have been reported, and it’s good to see the system working effectively.

ℹ️ For info: The temporary traffic lights are portable traffic signals fitted with smart sensors. They detect when a vehicle approaches and can switch from red to green quickly, helping to keep traffic moving instead of leaving drivers stuck waiting.

If you do find there are any issues, please reach out and we’ll happily pass on any concerns.
