Highlighting our Wonderful Volunteers!!!!
Action on Asbestos would like everyone to know more about our dedicated fundraisers for the Charity. The first person we would like to highlight is the truly inspirational Jethro Bremner Alison. Sadly, Jethro's father had been diagnosed with mesothelioma and passed away in June 2016. Jethro vowed to help raise funds in his fathers name for the charity and has been doing so every year for the last 10 years. He does this no matter what milestones he has to face personally along the way.
Jethro began his fundraising exactly 1 year to the day after his father died from mesothelioma, by organising the "Action on Asbestos Trophy in Rothsay. A magnificent Golf Day in the beautiful island of Bute. His loyal friends and family were his strength and support. Jethro continued organising this fantastic year after year and it certainly grew in size. Sadly Jethro then went through a divorce, but he continued in his efforts to raise funds for his much loved charity. Everyone was delighted that a few years later Jethro was to meet the Love of his life. Everyone was so happy for him as we all believed he deserved all the happiness in the world. After a few years Jethro was dealt another heart breaking blow that could have broken him altogether, as sadly his "person", the love of his life, sadly passed away whilst they enjoyed their planned holiday of a lifetime in Australia. This, as you can imagine devastated Jethro, however his loyal friends and family organised his beloved Golf day for him in respect of him and his Dad, as they wanted to show him how much he meant to them. The tragedies encountered by Jethro were horrendous. Unbelievably Jethro continued with his Golf day every year after this, and in those 10 years Jethro has raised £37,000!!!!!
Action on Asbestos have no words to say how PROUD we are of you Jethro. Please never stop being you!!! Thank you for everything, from all of us at Action on Asbestos and our members.
