Max Out in the Lake District

More to follow soon but we wanted to say a huge THANK YOU to the Max Out in the Lake District community. We are overwhelmed as ever by your support.

We joined the annual Brew for the Moo, the largest outdoor charity dog walk event, which celebrated the legacy of Max the Miracle Dog and raised funds for BRAVEHOUND.

The veterans, BRAVEHOUND dogs and BRAVEHOUND Team had a fantastic day.

More photos to follow- but highlights of the day were Frances McKernen presenting a cheque for £375 to BRAVEHOUND's Chair of trustees, Fiona Andrew in memory of his uncle Jamie.

Warhead Project UK 's stunning 1936 Staff Car was the focus for Armed Forces Day - huge thanks to Jason Fearnley and to 108 year old Second World War veteran, Flt Lt Harry Richardson DFC. Harry judges Best in Show and it was a great honour to meet him.

RAF veteran Allan Steele, presenting the rosettes for "Most Aerodynamic Ears" Ian Walker choosing "waggiest tail" Former "Best Beard " winner Angus, graciously accepting second place this year, and two of our friend Pam Burns pack checking out one of the Scottish Military Vehicle Group vehicles .

Do join us at Dumfries House on Sunday July 19th. There's a £5 parking fee but free admission to the Armed Forces Day event which runs from 12 noon- 3pm. There are lots of fun classes to enter - do show your support for our amazing Armed Forces and come along.

We are thrilled to announce that this year we are partnering with The Kings Foundation at Dumfries House to celebrate with a very special event which combines both of our annual dog shows.

We are so appreciative to be one of 130 local events supported by a Ministry of Defence grant to enable us to mark this important Day.

The Armed Forces Day Dog Show is free to attend but £3 to enter your furry friend in one of the dog show categories in advance online and £4 on the day:

These include Cutest Puppy, Dog Who Looks Most Like Its Owner, Best Rescue Dog and Best Sausage Catcher.

BRAVEHOUND's Armed Forces Day Dog Show classics will also be included: Most Aerodynamic Ears, Best Salute, Best Beard and Still Game...Best Veteran (over 8 years old).

Judges from the Army, Royal Navy and Royal Air Force will pick the winners.
