We are disappointed that the BBC Scotland will no longer be filming the World Pipe Band Championships, following a decision made as part of the BBC’s wider cost-cutting measures.

For many years, the BBC Scotland coverage has brought the excitement and spectacular performances of "The Worlds" to thousands of viewers around the world, becoming a much-valued part of the event.

We can confirm that the World Pipe Band Championships will continue to be available via live stream, ensuring audiences around the world can continue to follow the competition.

The RSPBA, together with our partner Glasgow Life, is currently in discussions with a number of potential broadcast partners as we explore opportunities to secure wider coverage of the World Pipe Band Championships in the future.

🎵 𝐖𝐨𝐫𝐥𝐝 𝐒𝐮𝐢𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐃𝐚𝐲 | 𝟏𝟎 𝐒𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 💙

Today, we remember those we have lost to su***de and stand alongside everyone who has been affected.

Sadly, su***de has touched our pipe band community, with families, and bands having experienced the devastating loss of someone they cared about.

Behind every band uniform is a person. Someone with their own struggles, worries, pressures and challenges — some of which may not always be visible to those around them.

Today is a reminder to 𝐥𝐨𝐨𝐤 𝐨𝐮𝐭 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐧𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐨𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫.

Take the time to listen. Notice when someone doesn't seem themselves. A simple “𝘏𝘰𝘸 𝘢𝘳𝘦 𝘺𝘰𝘶 𝘳𝘦𝘢𝘭𝘭𝘺 𝘥𝘰𝘪𝘯𝘨?” could be the conversation starter someone needs.
Sometimes, simply knowing that someone cares can make a difference.

If you are struggling, please don't suffer in silence. Reach out to someone you trust and talk about how you're feeling. 𝐘𝐨𝐮 𝐝𝐨𝐧'𝐭 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐟𝐚𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐭 𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐧𝐞.

Let’s make our pipe band community a place where everyone feels supported, valued and able to speak openly about their mental health.

𝐑𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐦𝐛𝐞𝐫. 𝐑𝐞𝐚𝐜𝐡 𝐨𝐮𝐭. 𝐋𝐢𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐧. 𝐒𝐮𝐩𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭. 💙
