The Sunshine Appeal is the longest established charity funded by Scotland fans and the only one to donate to a children's charity every time Scotland play away from home. Following a trip to Bosnia in 1999, friendships and links established during the visit ultimately led to Scotland fans being made aware of the plight of a local lad, Kemal Karic, who had been injured and orphaned during the shelling of Sarajevo. Kemal had lost a leg in a bomb-blast and required financial assistance so that a prosthetic leg could be obtained. Such was the success of the fund-raising for this appeal that not only was the leg bought for Kemal, but with the money left over the Sunshine Appeal was set up to 'spread a little sunshine' in every country that the Tartan Army visits in pursuit of a Scotland victory! The first such donation was made in Lithuania in 2003. The Sunshine Appeal is very proud of the fact that all money is raised through sale of T-shirts and badges to footsoldiers, donations from Scotland supporters, functions organised by TA clubs and individuals and left over foreign currency after Scotland trips etc. It's through the efforts of these caring, private individuals, who give of their time and money, that we are in the position to make donations as gestures of friendship between ordinary Scotland fans and worthwhile causes in every country that we visit - each time we visit them. 💙The Tartan Army are famous for their big hearts and friendly fans. Scottish charities Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal and Tartan Army Childrens' Charity (TACC) showed that spirit, generously donating to local children’s charities, as Scotland faced Slovenia in the UEFA Nations League. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿🇸🇮

A brilliant example of football being a force for good, on and off the pitch. 👏

Nogomet jih pripelje v različne države. Dobrodelnost je del njihove poti.

Morda boste danes po Ljubljani srečali ljudi v škotskih kiltih, s škotskimi zastavami in morda celo z dudami. To je Tartan Army – skupnost škotskih nogometnih navijačev, ki je znana po svoji podpori reprezentanci, pa tudi po dobrodelnosti.

Za njihovo dobrodelno dejavnostjo stoji Tartan Army Sunshine Appeal (TASA). Njihova tradicija se je začela leta 2003: ko škotska reprezentanca gostuje v drugi državi, tam poiščejo lokalno organizacijo, ki pomaga otrokom, in ji namenijo dobrodelno donacijo.

Njihova zgodba bi se lahko skrčila v tri besede: Kamorkoli gremo / Everywhere we go. 🌍
Kamorkoli jih pripelje škotski nogomet, tam poiščejo priložnost, da podprejo lokalno skupnost.

Tokrat jih je nogomet pripeljal v Ljubljano – in izbrali so Društvo za kulturo inkluzije. Danes nam bodo predali svojo 113. donacijo, pri obisku pa se nam bo pridružilo tudi British Embassy Ljubljana (Veleposlaništvo Združenega kraljestva v Sloveniji).

Danes pa vam bomo pokazali, kdo smo, kaj počnemo in kdo vse soustvarja našo skupnost. 💙
