A new £11m innovation-led manufacturing hub is coming to Dalmarnock, delivering nearly 30,000 sq ft of flexible workspace.

Designed for advanced manufacturing, engineering, technology and R&D occupiers, XWORKS offers a rare opportunity to secure space within Glasgow's emerging innovation area, with excellent transport connectivity and a location right next to Dalmarnock Station.

On Friday we welcomed Tom Arthur, Minister for Business and Fair Work, to EastWorks on Friday to see first-hand how regeneration is helping innovative businesses grow and create jobs in Glasgow's East End.

A remarkable three businesses based at EastWorks, Utopi, Acumen Cyber and Morris & Spottiswood, have all been recognised in the Sunday Times Fast Growth 50, highlighting the strength of the innovation cluster developing in Dalmarnock.

Alongside businesses including Simera Sense, Red Tree Business Suites and Vin 18, they are helping create a vibrant community of high-growth companies and entrepreneurs, demonstrating the impact of place-based investment and regeneration.

EastWorks transformed a former Victorian gas purifier shed into a thriving deep tech hub for high-growth businesses and is now fully occupied, supporting innovation, investment and quality employment opportunities.

🚧 Work begins on a transformational new home for Baltic Street Adventure Playground (BSAP)

This £1.1 million investment, supported by Clyde Gateway and the Scottish Government, will deliver a purpose-built facility that reflects the incredible impact Baltic Street Adventure Playground has had on local children and families for over a decade.

Since its beginnings as a legacy of the Glasgow 2014 Commonwealth Games, BSAP has been a vital community lifeline—providing a safe space for children to play, as well as essential support for families through food provision, activities and community programmes.

The new facility will build on that legacy, offering:

✔️ Flexible indoor and covered community space
✔️ An expanded community food hub
✔️ Enhanced kitchen facilities for skills and cooking programmes
✔️ Modern workspace for staff and volunteers

This investment is about more than bricks and mortar. It’s about tackling child poverty, supporting families, and creating opportunities that will benefit the community for generations to come.

A huge thank you to all partners involved in making this vision a reality—we look forward to seeing the positive impact this new space will deliver when it completes in early 2027.

Drum roll please…🥁🥁

Dalmarnock’s newest community green space is officially called…

✨ Pigeon Park ✨
The name was chosen through a public poll, with four local primary schools putting forward suggestions – and the winning name coming from a pupil at Riverbank Primary School 👏

🌿 Now officially open, Pigeon Park has transformed a previously vacant site beside Dalmarnock Station into a vibrant, welcoming space for the community. Delivered by Clyde Gateway in partnership with Glasgow City Council, the £1.05m project includes a play area, open green space, community growing areas, and new biodiversity features.

Even more special, the park was officially opened by Glasgow 2026 Commonwealth Games gymnast Pavel Karnejenko, helping mark a proud moment for the local community.

This project is a great example of how young people’s ideas and partnership working can shape meaningful places – turning derelict land into something everyone can enjoy 💚

Clyde Gateway in partnership with Scottish Rowing, Clydesdale Amateur Rowing Club, Stonelaw High School and Trinity High School has been supporting a successful Learn to Row programme for the past two years. Pupils selected by the schools attend the West Boathouse in Glasgow Green and participate in a six-week block going from no experience of rowing to being competent and independent, developing their rowing skills and the ability to manoeuvre safely on the river.

Last week, Niki Spence, Head of Sustainable Communities, was delighted to be able to launch a new boat “Clyde” which will enable more pupils to enjoy the sport.

🏗️ Construction is officially underway at XWORKS

We were pleased to welcome First Minister John Swinney to Dalmarnock today to mark the start of construction on XWORKS – a major £11m investment that could support up to 150 high quality jobs.

Located at Dalmarnock Cross, next to the train station, XWORKS will deliver flexible, innovation led mid tech workspace, designed to support advanced manufacturing and research led businesses to start, scale and thrive.

Spearheaded by Clyde Gateway, and funded by the UK Government, Glasgow City Region, Scottish Government, Glasgow City Council and Scottish Enterprise, the development responds directly to growing demand for high quality, energy efficient manufacturing space and represents another important step in the regeneration of Dalmarnock.

Designed by Stallan Brand and built by Heron Bros, XWORKS is due for completion in Q1 2027.
