✨✨ AGM ANNOUNCEMENT ✨✨

All roles are up for reelection and we need a minimum of a named Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary and Welfare Officer to reaffiliate with the SRC for 26/27! ⭐️🌟

Hi everybody,

Ahead of our AGM this year, we are asking anybody who is interested in joining our committee next year to express this interest through a Google Form at the link in our bio.

If we are being fully transparent, we are worried we will not fill the necessary roles to affiliate next year as approximately two thirds of our current committee are graduating.

We really want GUAI to continue into next year, as we have a number of important campaigns coming up, such as the Defend Dissent campaign, however, in order to do so we need a minimum of a named Chairperson, Treasurer, Secretary, and Welfare Officer as listed officer bearers to reaffiliate for 26/27. All other roles can be filled at an EGM at the start of the academic year.

All roles will have a full handover and will be supported by our current Chairperson, who will have an advisory role next year, and the professional student organisers at AIUK so please do not be put off applying even if you feel you don’t have the experience. All that is needed is a care for and commitment to human rights!

Expressing an interest in running will
not commit you to running on the day. Please message us on Instagram or email us at [email protected] if you have any questions about the roles
and we can put you in contact with
our current committee.

Thank you. 💛

Come along to GUU Reading Room at 16:00-18:00 on Tuesday the 21st of January for our Campaign Launch and wine glass painting!

We are launching this semester’s campaign against the death penalty world wide. This session will be focusing particularly on the use of death penalty on women and girls in Afghanistan.

This event will be in collaboration with our friends, the Glasgow Students For Choice Society. Following the campaign launch there will be the opportunity to take part in wine glass painting to raise money for the UN Emergency Relief Fun for Women and Girls in Afghanistan. Wine glass painting will cost £4 per person and this includes a wine glass and paint. You will be able to pay on the day in both cash and card.

See you all there next Tuesday! 💛💜✨🌸
