❄️ SISU Winter Break ❄️

As the year draws to a close, we want to thank all the women, practitioners, partners, and supporters who have been part of SISU’s work this year. 🤍

Following our winter break, we’ll be pausing activities for a short period while we reflect and plan through an organisational and programmatic strategic review.

With warm wishes for the festive period ✨

✨ Thank You to Our Funders ✨
Thank you to our funders for standing with SISU and supporting another year of empowering programmes. 💙

Our funders ensure we have a foundation to work from - but it’s the small, steady actions from our community that allow SISU to grow, evolve and reach more young women.

If you’d like to support us, donate the price of your favourite festive drink via our website: https://www.sisu-group.org/.

💙 Highlights from 2025 💙

As we take a moment to reflect on the year, we’re sharing some highlights as part of our campaign. ⭐

The SISU community has taken part in workshop series, have been part of co-creation meetings, connected and recharged at our retreats, and even joined us at the Scottish Parliament on International Women’s Day!

Throughout 2025, we’ve seen how holistic support helps young women heal, connect and build confidence. If you’d like to support us into next year, donate the cost of your favourite festive drink via our website - https://www.sisu-group.org/ . ☕

Panel Event Speaker Announcement 📣

Our final speaker to be announced is Fiona Scott, a Development & Trade Credit Consultant and SISU Trustee. 💜

Fiona has over 12 years of experience in the financial sector. Having worked in both a small independent firm and a large corporate, she brings her experience of both to the panel. Her work focuses on making trade credit insurance more accessible and effective - helping businesses understand risk, build financial resilience, and grow with confidence.

Now working on a freelance basis, Fiona has more time to support her passions, including championing women in business and empowering young women in finance.

Panel Event Speaker Announcement 📣

Our second speaker will be Carmen Martinez from the Scottish Women's Budget Group. 💜

Carmen is the Policy and Engagement Lead at the Scottish Women’s Budget Group, and leads the group’s work on childcare and the Feminist Just Transition. She holds an MSc in Public Policy from Strathclyde University and spent a year in Brussels supporting Horizon Europe and the LIFE Programme in advancing the European Green Deal. Carmen has also served as a trustee for two local women’s aid groups in Scotland and is currently Chair of Inverclyde Women’s Aid.

"I do this work partly inspired by Dr Angela O’Hagan, but also because I’ve seen how (sometimes small) changes in budgets can make a big difference to women’s lives, helping to level the playing field and ensure equal opportunity."
