EXHIBITION STATEMENT:
TUN explores the strange, resilient life of the tardigrade, a microscopic creature capable of surviving extreme conditions, including the vacuum of space. Through large-scale sculpture and sound, the exhibition transforms this almost invisible being into something monumental, celebratory, and immersive. Drawing on conversations with children, the work reimagines tardigrades not as scientific subjects, but as beings with homes, feelings, and relationships to the cosmos.
Part of The Space Celebration Organisation, the exhibition proposes a q***r, non-extractive relationship with space - one rooted in care, curiosity, and joy rather than conquest. TUN invites us to consider what it means to endure, to belong, and to remain soft within an expansive and uncertain universe.
