Al Anon - Glasgow City Centre Thursdays Welcome to Al Anon Family Group Glasgow City Centre Meeting. We meet on Thursdays at 7.45pm.

‘ Coming into Al Anon can be like stepping into a brand new world. You begin to realise that you can change your life, by doing away with fear, bitterness and resentment.’

We believe alcoholism is a family disease. Compulsive drinking affects all relationships - children, siblings, partners, parents and friends. We too can become ill.

Al Anon is a fellowship for relatives and friends of alcoholics. We understand as perhaps few others can.

We meet every Thursday at 7.45pm at the Quaker Meeting House on Elmbank Street.

‘After living with an alcoholic for 13 years I finally broke down to my work supervisor. She told me to go to Al-Anon. I found the number and went to my first meeting. I was excited because finally I was going to get help with these thoughts that were going around in my head – thoughts that included su***de, even though I had two young children at that time. I had reached my rock bottom. As I sat in that first meeting the tears began to flow. Finally I was ‘home’, I felt safe and understood.’

Al-Anon is a fellowship of men and women whose lives have been, or are being disturbed by another's compulsive drinking.
Meetings are held all over the country.

Anonymity is an important principle of the Al Anon programme. Everything that is said in the meeting, and member to member, will be held in confidence.

Just like other fellowships, for example AA, we must uphold this principle to protect the anonymity of its members.

If you wish to join us at a meeting, we meet every Thursday at 7.45pm at the Quaker House on Elmbank Street.

Are you being affected by somebody’s problem drinking? In Al Anon we are a fellowship of friends and family of alcoholics.

We who live with the problem of alcoholism, understand as perhaps few others can. In Al Anon we discover we can find contentment, even happiness, whether the alcoholic is still drinking or not.

Anonymity is an important principle of the Al Anon programme. Everything that is said, must be held in confidence.

We meet every Thursday at 7.45pm in the Quaker Meeting House on Elmbank Street.

We look forward to welcoming you if you need support because you are affected by someone’s drinking.
