The regenerated space will provide opportunities to stage all the traditional things the bandstand used to host; performances, entertainment, musical events, rallies, and more. We’re seeing informal uses like exercise classes, small get-togethers of parents and children as well as the big organised events. Performances by local dance groups? The School play? Screenings of classic films? We already
have some intriguing responses from the initial survey we carried out in summer 2009 but we’re always ready to listen. The space will be an asset to the whole city of Glasgow not just the south side. It will be unique; attracting touring companies and events to the city and enabling the area to take part in city wide festivals.
