I used to box, but I kept getting hit with the punchlines. 🥊😅
24-year-old Gregory McCalium forced his way into the home of 73-year-old pensioner Frank Corti and his wife, believing he’d found an easy target.
He couldn’t have been more wrong.
What McCalium didn’t know was that Corti was a former boxing champion who had trained with the Royal Engineers during his service in the British Army. When the burglar allegedly charged at him with a six-inch knife, Corti dodged multiple attempts to stab him before firing back with a powerful right hook and a quick jab that sent the younger man crashing to the floor.
The retired boxer then restrained the intruder until police arrived to make the arrest. Prosecutors later said the burglar’s injuries were so severe he looked as though he’d been in a car accident.
A judge later told McCalium he had “got what he deserved” before sentencing him to four and a half years in prison.
Turns out the burglar’s getaway plan was…down for the count. 🥊😂
