We were delighted to partner with Royston Youth Action and Roystonhill Community Hub to deliver an exciting summer programme of events for 60 children during the school holidays! ☀️

This fantastic programme was made possible thanks to funding from The National Lottery Community Fund , helping us provide fun, engaging activities and opportunities for local children and young people.

We’re hoping to deliver more activities like this throughout the year, so keep an eye on our social media for updates and information about what’s coming up! 😊

Spire View's Annual General Meeting (AGM) will be taking place on Tuesday 15th September at 6pm in the Roystonhill Community Hub, and is open to all members of the Association.

Full packs will be going out to members in the coming weeks.

🌒 Solar Eclipse – Wednesday 12 August 2026

The UK will experience a spectacular partial solar eclipse this evening, with the Moon expected to block up to 95% of the Sun in parts of Britain. The eclipse will be visible across the UK, including Glasgow, with timings and the amount of coverage varying by location.

Help us reduce electricity use between 6pm and 8pm.
During the eclipse, solar power generation across Great Britain will temporarily fall at the same time as electricity demand is expected to increase. Energy suppliers such as Octopus Energy, British Gas etc are encouraging households to use less electricity during 6pm–8pm to help reduce pressure on the electricity system.

It is suggested, where possible,
• Delay using washing machines and dishwashers until after 8pm
• Avoid using other non-essential, high-energy appliances during this period
Even small changes across many households can make a difference. 💚

👀 Planning to watch the eclipse?
Never look directly at the Sun without proper solar eye protection. Ordinary sunglasses are not safe for viewing an eclipse. Use suitable, undamaged eclipse glasses or a certified solar viewer and follow the manufacturer's instructions. Enjoy this rare event, stay safe and help us reduce electricity use between 6pm and 8pm.
