🤩 The Royal National Mòd (Am Mòd Nàiseanta Rìoghail) starts in Glasgow on the 9 October, and we're delighted to be part of it! We invite you to join CCC and The Village Storytelling Centre at Edward House for a lively interactive experience for your whole family. To begin with - and to get that creativity flowing - you'll be treated to a screening of our brand-new concert film ‘How the Seasons Came to Be’ which has been translated into Gaelic and performed by Claire Frances MacNeil.

After the screening you will be guided and encouraged by our Gaelic storyteller so you and your family can begin to create your very own character and stories. Who knows what magical tales you can make together?

Here’s a little glimpse of the music from Song of Stars Cantata, my new work inspired by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s The Little Prince, with original lyrics by my late song-writing partner, Les Barker.

Writing it has been a long-held dream, and I can’t wait to share it with you in full next month.

🤩 We’re delighted to announce that our brand-new concert film is now available! Get ready to embark on a magical musical adventure and discover the enchanting story of ‘How the Seasons Came to Be’...

🎶 We began our journey with The Story Collector nearly a year ago, with workshops and visits to schools and community settings throughout Scotland. Teaming up with Dan Serridge from The Village Storytelling Centre and our friend, the composer Aileen Sweeney, we began gathering stories written by children across the country. All we had was one big, ambitious idea: to weave all these stories together into a single tale to celebrate imagination and creativity. The result is truly delightful, and we're so excited to finally share this with you - it's been such a fantastic experience bringing this all together.

🎞 The film is available in English and Gaelic (with translation and performance by Claire Frances MacNeil) and the BSL version is coming very soon (performed by Paul Whittaker).

If you've not managed to get creative yet, don't worry, you have until Monday the 14th September to get your ghosts, ghouls, witches and rollercoastering pumpkins to us.

🎨 It's that time of year again...yes, it's our annual Animation Competition! Once again we're collaborating with the uber-talented Computer Animation students at the University of the West of Scotland.

🎡 As you already know, our Halloween concert is 'Creepy Carnival', so we're looking for some artwork to show what spooky things you might discover at the funfair. Ghouls in the dodgems? Skeletons rattling around on the rollercoaster? Or witches taking over the Ferris Wheel? Let your imagination run wild! The music to accompany the artwork will be 'Ride of the Headless Horseman' by Robert Wendel - which sounds rather terrifying itself!

Once again we're joining forces with the Royal Scottish National Orchestra, the RSNO Children's Chorus, the Manor School Of Ballet and BSL Performer Paul Whittaker for our Halloween spooktacular! With fairground frights and flickering lights there will be chills and spills aplenty in this musical treat for the whole family...
