💙 WELCOME BACK, MANDY! 💛

We’re delighted to announce that Mandy MacFarlane will be returning to FASS as our new Service Manager!

After leaving FASS to pursue a new opportunity, Mandy soon realised just how much she missed the charity, the team and, most importantly, the people and families we support.

We’re absolutely delighted to welcome Mandy back to the FASS family and are looking forward to having her experience, passion and commitment back within the team.

Mandy will officially be back in the FASS office from Friday 9th October.

💙 VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITY WITH FASS GLASGOW 💛

FASS are looking for a friendly, reliable and compassionate Volunteer Receptionist.

Our volunteers help us create a warm, welcoming and supportive environment for family members and friends affected by a loved one’s alcohol or drug use.

What you’ll help with:
• Welcoming visitors and supporting reception
• Answering calls and taking messages
• Basic admin and data entry
• Preparing refreshments
• Setting up group sessions
• Keeping our shared spaces welcoming and organised
• Supporting the team with day-to-day tasks

You don’t need previous experience — we’re looking for someone with the right attitude, who is non-judgemental, approachable and willing to learn.

📍 Location: Govan Road, Glasgow (G51 1HJ)
🕘 Commitment: 1 regular shift per week (around 4–5 hours)
📅 Opening hours: Monday–Friday, 9am–4pm
⏳ Ideally: 3–6 month commitment

Full induction, training and ongoing support will be provided.

🎬 REMINDER – BREADSEED SCREENING AT FASS 🎬

A little reminder that we’ll be screening BREADSEED at FASS on Monday 21st September at 9:00am.

BREADSEED is a powerful 19-minute short film inspired by writer and co-director Linda Carmichael’s experience of loving and losing a son who used drugs.

Following the screening, Linda will be joining us to share her experience and speak about harm reduction, loss and the impact of addiction on families.

If you are planning to attend, please confirm your attendance with us so we can get an idea of numbers.

Just a reminder that FASS will be in Parkhead HUB on Thursday 9am-12pm. Whether you are looking for support, information or simply someone to talk to we are here for you.

From 17th September, FASS will be holding regular drop-in sessions at Parkhead HUB, 1251 Duke Street, Glasgow, G31 5NZ.

These sessions are open to anyone who has been affected by a loved one’s drug or alcohol use. Whether you are looking for support, information, or simply someone to talk to you are welcome to come along.

No appointment is needed just drop in and have a chat with a member of our team.

We understand that addiction can affect the whole family, and you do not have to face it alone.

FASS is delighted to invite you to a special screening of BREADSEED, a powerful 19-minute short film inspired by writer and co-director Linda Carmichael’s experience of loving—and losing—a son who used drugs.

The film interweaves two worlds, Afghanistan and the UK, through the experience of one family affected by opioid addiction.
