Recovery is about more than stopping—it's about starting again. 🌟

When John came to Street Connect, he was grieving, struggling emotionally and worried about relapsing.

Today, he has found something he didn't think was possible again—purpose.

"I have moved from existing to living. I now volunteer and have a sense of purpose."

"I've gone from 'poor me' to 'here for a reason'."

John continues to engage with support, volunteers in his community and is working towards improving his physical and mental health while planning for a brighter future.

Every step forward matters, and every journey starts with reaching out.

Need support with your own journey?

We were delighted to welcome The Centre for Social Justice Foundation back to Easterhouse, alongside local MP Maureen Burke.

As a 2025 CSJ Award winner, we’re grateful for the relationship we’ve built with the Foundation and for their continued interest in the work taking place through Street Connect.

It was a valuable opportunity for our team and those we support to share first-hand about the realities of addiction, recovery and the difference that long-term, relationship-based support can make.

Thank you to the CSJ Foundation and Maureen for visiting, listening and helping shine a light on the work happening here in Easterhouse Community Church. đź’™

It was a great opportunity to share first-hand the difference our teams are making in communities and, most importantly, for those we support to share something of their own experiences.

We’re always grateful for opportunities to raise awareness of the realities of addiction, recovery and the hope that lives can be transformed.

Thank you Maureen for visiting, listening and helping shine a light on the work happening here in Easterhouse Community Church

Every overdose death is a tragedy. Every life lost leaves behind family, friends and a community that cares. As International Overdose Awareness Day is this month, we remember those we've lost while standing beside those who are still fighting addiction. Together we can replace judgement with compassion and stigma with hope. đź’™ Because recovery is possible.

🧡 Every life matters. Every story matters. Every person matters.

Over the next few weeks, we'll be marking International Overdose Awareness Day by sharing stories of hope, challenging stigma, raising awareness and celebrating recovery.

Addiction can affect anyone, but it doesn't define a person's worth.

We believe recovery is possible, hope can be restored, and no one should have to face addiction alone.

We'll be sharing real stories, practical information and ways we can all help build a more compassionate community.

Together, let's replace judgement with understanding, stigma with support, and isolation with connection.

đź’™ If you or someone you know needs support, we're here to help.
