Glasgow League of Writers

Glasgow League of Writers GLoW are a motley crew of comic book creators who meet monthly at the (infamous!) Hope Street Studio for script feedback, comic chat and alcohol.

The Glasgow League of Writers (GLoW) was founded in 2011 by Gordon Robertson as a way to bring together local comic book writers to share their knowledge and help each other. And have a drink too, of course. Whether it’s someone working on their very first script or a seasoned pro with a half dozen books on the shelves all are welcome at GLoW. They meet every two weeks at the famous Hope Street St

udios to provide feedback on each other’s latest scripts, chat about comics and provide advice on any aspect of producing them (finding an artist, publishing, digital distribution etc). The only rule is to be completely honest with each other when providing feedback and advice – any writer will tell you that truly honest feedback is an invaluable commodity in this game. Thankfully there’s been very few fistfights as a result of it. With several award winners amongst its members GLoW can safely lay claim to having some of Scotland’s best writing talent and some very exciting up-and-comers too.
