Old Glasgow Series of talks continues with The Great Exhibition of 1901 with speaker Bill Daly.
Dominated by 'The Eastern Palace' with its 180ft high central dome, the Great Exhibition of 1901 was more 'International' than its 1888 predecessor, displaying goods from Persia, Russia, the colonies as well as closer neighbours in Europe and North Africa.
The Golden Angel on top of the dome carried an electric torch; truly a modern marvel.
