🐰🐣 Happy Easter Monday Friends! 🐣 🐰 We know painting eggshells is an ancient practice as people in Africa were decorating ostrich eggs about 60,000 years ago! Whether you've been sowing spring seeds, attending a religious service or painting hard boiled eggs and rolling them doon the brae - we're wishing you plenty of good conversations this Easter - and if they're with very attentive white bunnies then even better!! 🤣

🛎️🐟🌳 Our monthly Get Togethers are always a warm and friendly affair! With a spring in our step we enjoyed a tour of the majestic Mitchell Library. Did you know it’s the largest public reference library in Europe? We found the hypnotic designs of the carpets particularly inspiring, especially the LP inspired one from the original music collection!!🤩📚 Thanks so much Glasgow Life Libraries - t'was fab!! 👏⭐

💐❤️ Happy Valentine's Friends!! ❤️💐 Do you remember when we were at primary school and the hot topic was always, 'How many cards did you get?' And how rubbish we felt when we'd say 'None!'? Well... we're grown ups now and we know what love really is. Instead of cards we'll be counting conversations for they are the soil from which love grows, eh? 🌳😊❤️

💝🎄Happy Christmas Day Friends!! 🎄💝 The best gift you can ever give someone is your time and energy - though the Winter Warmer hampers from Celtic FC Foundation come a close second!! That's all our Good Morning Calls finished and our hamper deliveries done so we're off home for Christmas dinner. 😊

A HUGE thanks to our volunteer elves today and to our clients who invited us into their home to share our stories. ⭐

Good Morning Service provides a unique daily telephone befriending and alert service whereby each day Telephone Befrienders call out to older people.

Since 2000, Good Morning’s light touch support has given older people
confidence to live alone, or as a carer, retaining their independence to live in
their own home and community.

Here’s why Irene (95) joined Good Morning Service:

“It’s because of your phone calls each morning that I feel I am in the world. I always feel more able to cope with the day ahead after talking to one of the team. It’s like being a member of an extended family, they’re trusted friends who I can open up to and talk about anything that’s worrying me.

The alarm side is 100% needed, I’m happy to live on my own because of it, otherwise I’d be in a home.

Knowing I can rely on them checking on my well-being each day and informing someone if I need help gives me peace of mind. Being part of the Good Morning Community I feel valued and respected, and overall, it helps me be independent. I can’t thank you enough.”

💃🕺Happy Friday Friends!! 25 Years!!💃🕺 You put your whole self in - your whole self out. In, out, and shake it all about... Every AGM should have a hokey cokey by the fab Alive and kicking project!! Huge thanks to Constable Yuill of Police Scotland Greater Glasgow for speaking about our Information Sharing Agreement whereby the Police can directly refer to us. And for taking the time to speak to everyone individually. ⭐👏
