Men's Group Day Out 🌧️🍛

Our men's group gathered for a walk through the City Centre to check out the newly renovated George Square. The weather turned on us halfway through, but we dried off over a good lunch and chat at Village Curry House!

Getting outside and spending time together is key for our health and wellbeing, come rain or shine.

Hollywood Bowl & Chaiiwala Outing 🎳

On September 9th, Nafiesa led a group of our members for an exciting day out! 14 members gathered at Hollywood Bowl for some friendly competition on the lanes, followed by a lovely lunch and catch-up at Chaiiwala Street Food Cafe.

Sessions like this are all about tackling social isolation, boosting mental wellbeing, and creating a space where our community can share their thoughts on our future project plans.

SEMDC was proud to attend the Breaking Barriers: Roots & Resilience in Mental Health event at Glasgow City Chambers on 10 July.
We hosted an information stall providing an opportunity to raise awareness of the specialist support SEMDC offers to Deaf people from ethnic minority community. SEMDC connected with a wide range of organisations and community groups, sharing information about our services and exploring opportunities for future partnership working. The event was a fantastic opportunity to strengthen community connections, promote accessibility, and showcase the vital role SEMDC plays in supporting Deaf people .

SEMDC members and their families celebrated Eid, in style, at the Pentagon Centre, last Saturday afternoon. Everyone enjoyed a sumptuous buffet delivered by VIP Catering which was served in the adjacent breakout room. There was fun and games for both the children and the adults which included pool and air hockey for the children and a competitive cup pyramid game between the ladies and gents. A fantastic time was had by all!
