Linkes Community Project - Glasgow

Linkes Community Project - Glasgow LINKES is a community project in Glasgow, run by the community for the community, providing groups and activities for people of all ages.

We have a weekly timetable of events. LINKES is a community project in Glasgow, Scotland - run by the community for the community. LINKES takes its name from Lincoln Avenue and Kestrel road - the streets which surround the multi-storey flats where we are based. We take a Community Development Approach to our work, which means that we aim to keep in touch with the people in the community in order t

o respond to expressed needs and opportunities. The core of our work is providing a weekly programme of groups and activities with our partners . We also signpost people to other services, organisations and agencies. We are interested in capacity building and support local people to develop their skills, experience and knowledge to benefit the wider community. We are also interested in integration and coordinate or participate in a number of events and campaigns throughout the year to bring people together. We have a weekly timetable of activities and groups - youth clubs, after-school play sessions, a seniors lunch club, a women's group as well as computer drop-in sessions and Ignite Theatre drama groups. For more information, see our website.

All of us at Linkes stand against the violence from a small minority group, in the city centre on Tuesday night and the hateful words and mis-information that fuel it.

Ever since Linkes was set up, we have brought people together - All People One Community - and we have stood by this ever since.

We stand in solidarity with everyone affected by the events in the city centre, and Belfast. We want Glasgow to feel safe for everyone.

Everyday we see examples of people from all backgrounds getting along as neighbours, friends and colleagues. We are the majority. 🧡🧡🧡

We are part of Refuweegee campaign

If you feel in immediate danger, call the Police on 999 or 101.

At Linkes, we believe every child, young person, family, volunteer, and staff member has the right to feel safe, respected, included, and celebrated for who they are.

We are proud to be an organisation where everyone is welcome. We recognise and value the diversity within our community and are committed to creating spaces where people can be themselves, express their identity, and feel a true sense of belonging.

For many LGBTQ+ people, having a safe and supportive environment can make a huge difference. We want every person who engages with Linkes to know that they are seen, heard, valued, and supported.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of LGBTQ+ communities, while reaffirming our commitment to equality, inclusion, and respect all year round.

No matter who you are, who you love, or how you identify – you have a place with us.
