Milton Food Hub is based at St. Andrew’s Church, on the other side of Liddesdale Square from the Garden. It hosts the community cafe, community fridge and fruit & veg Barra, open:
Wednesdays 10.30am - 12.30pm
Thursdays 12.30pm - 2.30pm
The garden is generally open Tues, Wed, Thurs from 10am - 3pm. About us:
Milton Community Garden contains raised beds and a polytunnel, which are used to grow food for the local community. The garden also features sheltered workshop space, a children's garden, a Ridan compost system, a wildlife pond, a compost toilet and plenty of seats for visitors to unwind and relax. We host activities for young people and community events. Watch this space! Some of our fresh produce is used by the chefs at the Food Hub (hot meals are served in the Cafe every Wednesday and Thursday) and some makes it onto NGCFI's fruit & vegetable Barra. Some is shared with our volunteers, and other visitors to the Garden. Adjacent to the community garden is a Memorial Garden, which was started in 2012 and redesigned in 2015 - over 50 members of the community contacted us to plant a tree for a lost, loved one. The Memorial Garden is open at all times. The project was built by NGCFI, Love Milton and members of the community, with kind support from the Scottish Government's Climate Challenge Fund and the Big Lottery Fund.
