Meet our lead trainer, Jade Van Blerk!

Jade is an Edinburgh-based Project Manager and Principal Transport Planner at Stantec, with a background spanning marketing strategy and transport planning. Her work involves managing complex projects, bringing together different teams and working with stakeholders to turn plans into results.

As JCI Scotland’s Deputy President and a Past President of JCI Edinburgh, Jade also brings first-hand experience of leading volunteers and delivering JCI initiatives. She understands what it takes to keep people motivated, manage competing priorities and take a project from an initial idea through to delivery.

At our Effective Project Management workshop, she’ll share practical ways to set clear goals, assign responsibilities, manage risks and keep your projects on track, alongside lessons from her professional career and JCI leadership journey.

🚀 Effective Project Management: From Idea to Action

A good idea is only the beginning. Turning it into action takes a clear plan, the right people and effective delivery.

Join us in Glasgow for the third and final workshop of the JCI Glasgow Leadership Series, designed to make project management practical, simple and easy to apply.

During this session, you will:
· Learn how to turn an idea into a simple project plan
· Set clear goals, actions, responsibilities and timelines
· Learn how to monitor progress and adapt when needed
· Understand how to work effectively as a team to deliver successful projects
· Explore how project management skills can strengthen your leadership

The project management training will be led by Jade Van Blerk, Deputy President of JCI Scotland, followed by Queenesther Ebinum, National President of JCI Scotland, who will explore applying these skills to JCI leadership, working effectively as a team and opportunities to lead JCI Glasgow in 2027.

Whether it’s for work, business, JCI or a personal project, you’ll leave with practical skills you can start applying straight away.

Last Sunday, we hosted our Mastering Networking workshop at Maldron Hotel Glasgow City, and what an incredible afternoon it was!

A huge thank you to our fantastic trainer, JCI Vice President assigned to JCI Europe, Isabel Simon, for delivering such an engaging, practical and inspiring session. From learning the principles of meaningful networking to putting them into practice through interactive exercises, attendees left with new skills, greater confidence and valuable connections.

The energy in the room was fantastic. It was inspiring to see participants stepping outside their comfort zones, building genuine relationships, exchanging ideas and discovering that great networking is about creating value before expecting anything in return.

We're especially delighted to welcome four new members who signed up to JCI Glasgow at the end of the workshop. This is another exciting milestone in the momentum we've been building since relaunching the chapter earlier this year, and we're looking forward to creating even more opportunities for young professionals across Scotland to learn, lead, connect and create positive change.

A big thank you to everyone who attended and to the JCI Scotland team: National President Queenesther Ebinum, Immediate Past President Laird Faichney-Smith and the National Communications Director Ben Carron helping make the workshop such a success. We can’t wait to continue building this momentum and growing the JCI Glasgow community.

We ended May with an inspiring Leadership Workshop hosted by JCI Glasgow as part of the JCI Scotland relaunch programme for the Glasgow chapter.

The session explored different leadership styles, reflected on what true leadership means, and challenged attendees to lead with purpose and take initiative. A huge thank you to our trainer, Emem Udedeh, JCI alumni and Founder of Flourish CIC, for delivering such an impactful and thought-provoking session.

It was encouraging to see new faces in the room and welcoming new members to the growing JCI Glasgow chapter as momentum continues to build.

A special shoutout to Thomas Hewitt , one of our newer members, who not only arrived early but also won our leadership game 👏 He took home a book to further explore leadership styles and continue developing his leadership journey.

As the European Conference gets well underway, we’re proud to be represented by one of our strongest delegations in recent years, with an incredible group of leaders from across JCI Aberdeen, JCI Edinburgh and JCI Scotland.

This year marks a particularly special moment, with one of the largest turnouts from Aberdeen and Edinburgh in years; a true reflection of the growth, energy, and ambition within our local organisations.

The momentum keeps building at JCI Glasgow! 🤝

On Saturday, we hosted our JCI Glasgow Networking Evening at VEGA Glasgow as part of the JCI Glasgow Relaunch Series, proudly led by the JCI Scotland National Board.

We were delighted to welcome a brilliant mix of attendees, including current JCI members, business owners, students, and international guests from the JCI network in India and the Philippines, now based in Scotland, all coming together to build meaningful new connections.

A special highlight was having JCI Senator Murray McGarvie with us, spending time getting to know members and guests, sharing insights, and contributing to the warm and inspiring atmosphere of the evening.

It was truly a great night of networking, leadership conversations, community building, and showcasing what JCI is all about,from personal development and international opportunities to friendship, impact, and growth.

It was also great to hear what attendees would love to see next as we continue building exciting opportunities for JCI Glasgow.

Also in attendance were the National President Queenesther Ebinum , Deputy National President Jade Van Blerk, and National Growth Director Princess Ukanwa , whose presence and support continue to drive the momentum behind the JCI Glasgow relaunch.

We cannot wait to welcome even more young professionals, entrepreneurs, students, and leaders into the community 🚀.
