Impact Funding Partners supports organisations to tackle social isolation and loneliness, and build stronger social connections across Scotland, in line with the A Connected Scotland (2018) strategy and on behalf of the funder, The Scottish Government

During this year’s , we wanted to share a quote from a volunteer involved at Woodlands Community who has been volunteering for about 3 years at their Warm Welcome Café and the community garden. Through volunteering regularly, the volunteer has regular interaction with others in the local community, has tried new foods and met so many new people.

Every month, one of our staff members shares the Action for Happiness monthly calendar. This resource supports overall wellbeing and connection amongst our team.

The calendar focusses on a theme each month, for June it's all about JOY, and each day had a different prompt.

Today for example, it's about finding joy in music. 🎶

We would love it if you could share the joy you find in music; listening, singing, dancing or sharing!

Last week, our Development Officer's Fiona and Naomi along with our Chief Executive, Cate were delighted to be in to hold a cluster meeting for organisations funded through The Scottish Government Volunteering Support Fund.

Our Chief Executive likes to keep herself busy. When Cate isn't steering the ship at Impact Funding Partners, she is involved as a volunteer at Dance Base and at Together - Scottish Alliance for Children's Rights as a Trustee. Most recently, Cate is volunteering on the Fundraising Committee at St Andrew Boat Club in Edinburgh.

When asked about the most enjoyable thing about volunteering, Cate said, "Everything! My personal value of service is very important to me. The pleasure I have had from a lifetime of dancing, the joy of witnessing my Rights Detective son contribute to the implementation of the UNCRC in Scotland; and the huge sense of achievement I am getting for being a novice rower. All these have driven me to want to ensure that these experiences are open to all."

Christos is one of the Trustee's here at Funding Partners and has been involved for 3 years. He finds his role really rewarding and would advise anyone considering joining a Board in Scotland's third sector to go for it!
