As we enter into a new month, it also means a new calendar!

We've got three things to look forward to this month:

1️⃣Our Board Away Day which is happening today and also includes a project visit to one of our funded organisations.

2️⃣ Our monthly full staff team meeting which provides a great opportunity to get together in person.

3️⃣ Some of our team will be delivering external training on how to write stronger funding applications. If you're interested in learning more about this, get in touch!

It was great to have Volunteer Scotland Adrian Murtagh, Head of Strategic Business Development along to our Cluster Meetings this month.

25 organisations had the opportunity to learn more about Volunteer Scotland's Knowledge Gateway and how they can actively support it through sharing their own skills, expertise and experience. Attendees also had the chance to learn more from funded organisations Dumfries and Galloway LGBT Plus, Clydesiders and Central Wellbeing SCIO

Within the Gateway, there is an opportunity for volunteer-involving organisations to sign up to the Volunteer Charter, just like funded organisation No Boundaries School Polska Szkoła bez Granic im. Earlier this month, our Development Officer Fiona was invited along to Firsthand Lothian Art Exhibition which included a variety of art made by Mums that are supported through one of their groups.

It was a brilliant showcase of everything that had been created, with some beautiful personal stories interlinked in the art. Behind the displays and the exhibition were real friendships, key support networks, opportunities to learn new skills and volunteer. It was such a wonderful showcase of not only the art but everything behind it too!

Earlier in August, one of our Development Officer's Naomi visited the facilities at Mount Vernon Community Hall in Glasgow who are currently funded through The Scottish Government Volunteering Support Fund.

Pictured here is Lynne, the Chairperson, with a collection of e-bikes used for cycling sessions. The hall engages with volunteers of different ages and with different skills.

The local surrounding community is at the heart of everything they do and their main aim is involving the community in activities such as tending to the community woodland, garden maintenance, running a busy youth club and ensuring continual support of their volunteers.

"Invest in Peace - For Everyone, Everywhere, Every Day"

Not just today, , but every day, and in different ways. A peaceful community, a peaceful society or, like the team at Good Morning Service, an opportunity to instill peace in others.

Currently funded through The Scottish Government Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund, Good Morning Service invest in peace for the many community members they support, like Agnes. Through their telephone befriending service, they are there to listen and through developing strong relationships it makes the support support highly effective in improving mental health.

Over the last couple of weeks, some of our funded organisations have sent us images of their volunteers, staff and communities getting active and what better day than today, to share them with you all!

A great example of moving throughout the working day is the team from Trauma Healing Together, who do 10 'doorbell squats' every time the doorbell rings!

Impact Funding Partners (IFP) proudly serves as the fund manager for the Bairns’ Hoose project, supporting delivery of The Scottish Government vision through strategic grant management, capacity building and system-wide collaboration.
Funded through the Bairns’ Hoose project are Children First who recently shared some feedback from a vulnerable family regarding the recovery support offered from a staff member.
