📝 The numbers are in, the steps have been counted and we are ready to announce our winning team of the Scotland Summer of Sport Step Count Challenge.

🚶🚶‍♂️🚶‍♀️ With an incredible 1,853,109 steps and being placed 55 out of 409 teams, the Scrambled Legs are our winning team here at Impact Funding Partners. Annual Leave certainly came into play to increase this teams steps..!

🎉 Obviously, it is all about taking part and not at all about competition (!) so with an equally impressive 1,403,108 steps, the I Would Write 500 Milestones came in at 157th on the Leader Board!

It was a great initiative to get our team walking as well as thinking about the importance of moving throughout the day.

Now...onto the next challenge. Does anyone have any suggestions?!

Today, Wednesday 12th August is

One of our funded projects,Sustaining Dunbar, is funded througThe Scottish Government Volunteering Support Fund.

Sustaining Dunbar has been bringing people together to support new initiatives which create local jobs, help people cut their fuel bills and grow more food. have access to opportunities to develop new skills and get involved with their local community.

Through a partnership with the local Day Centre, young volunteers attend sessions and spend time with the older people. Claire Ainslie, Manager of the Day Centre, has expressed heartfelt praise for the volunteers,
“They have been totally exceptional, down to earth, caring young people. They lighten up the atmosphere and nothing is too much trouble, from serving meals, recycling, washing dishes, serving tea and hosting quizzes. It’s great to have their extra help and their commitment and dedication has been exemplary.”

📈 116 funded organisations were asked to report on their first five months of activity (November 2025 - March 2026).

🌱 Throughout many of the reports, there were clear differences highlighted and as you can see, a big impact is already being made within the funded organisations themselves, within communities and for volunteers.

To mark , we have chosen Forth Valley Migrant Support Network most recent case study linked to their The Scottish Government Volunteering Support Fund.

🏠 Galya, a Ukrainian refugee and stay-at-home mum who moved to Scotland at the start of the war first became involved in the organisation through the New Scots drop-in sessions they deliver and then in the Women’s Club, where she quickly became comfortable and built positive relationships with staff, volunteers, and participants.

📅 Since January 2026, Gayla to support the Women’s Breakfast Club by setting up the venue, preparing refreshments, and shopping for supplies, welcoming new participants, and helping create a friendly, inclusive atmosphere. She also produces short videos of activities, using her interest in filming and editing. Galya has shown reliability, initiative, and creativity.

🙌 Through volunteering, Galya reports feeling more involved, valued, and connected to the local community. Her confidence in using English has improved, and she is now more comfortable meeting new people and taking responsibility in group activities.

Project Ability is funded through The Scottish Government Social Isolation and Loneliness Fund to deliver an . As part of this project, the 'Going for Gold' art exhibition launched last week and is on until Saturday 12th September.

Young Talent is our inspiring annual exhibition celebrating the artworks by the children and young adults attending our Create programme.

Exhibition Dates: 25th July - 12th Sep
Reception: 15th August, 12-2pm with a special musical performance by Create artist Struan Robb 🎤🎹
