Bands from across Scotland gathered in Glasgow for the BB Scottish Bands Contest on 28 March, and we were delighted to be part of the competition. Boys performed exceptionally well on their first experience of the event, taking home two national novice shields plus the Glasgow Battalion bugle band trophy. Thanks go to the BB Scottish Bands Committee for organising the event, everyone who supported on the day and most of all to the young musicians who made it such a memorable occasion.

For the first time in many years the Company’s Bugle Band took part in the The Boys' Brigade in Scotland Bands Contest this morning held at Hutcheson’s Grammar School in Glasgow.

As the only Bugle Band performing alongside a number of pipe bands and marching bands, we were delighted to take home two national novice shields plus the Battalion bugle band trophy thanks to a strong performance.

The next outing for the band will be our 118th Annual Inspection and Display at Broomhill Hyndland Parish Church of Scotland on 15 May.

Our thanks go to the organisers of the contest and congratulations to all the other great bands taking part. A video from the contest will follow in the coming days.

Congratulations to our Junior Section for winning the Partick District Figure Marching Competition tonight! 🎉

After weeks of practice and hard work, the boys delivered a fantastic performance, securing first place to add the District trophy to the Glasgow Battalion, The Boys' Brigade title won a few weeks ago! 👏

The boys are pictured showing off their medals and the legendary trophy—one of the most unique in The Boys' Brigade in Glasgow. Originally gifted by a US Navy captain in 1977, it even features US dollars as part of its design! 💵✨

Well done, boys! And well done to other Companies taking part, 135th Glasgow BB Company. and 5th Glasgow Boys' Brigade for great marching too!

It just about stayed dry enough for our second Church Parade of the session at Broomhill Hyndland Parish Church.

The Bugle Band played Hood, Alexandra and Old Number One at the march past, with members of the church, family and friends watching.

The next outing for our Bugle Band will be at the BB Scottish Bands Contest in a couple of weeks’ time.

Thanks to everyone who joined us this morning.

Strike up the applause! 🎳

It was a great night of bowling at Tenpin Braehead earlier this week as boys from across the district competed in the Partick District Ten Pin Bowling competition.

Congratulations to Callum, who bowled superbly to take bronze in the Senior age group for Junior Section 👏

There was even more success in Company Section, with Duncan winning the Intermediate age group and Daniel striking gold in the Senior age category! 🏆

Well done to everyone who took part, and thanks to 5th Glasgow Boys' Brigade for organising a brilliant event!

Huge congratulations to our Junior Section who marched into action today at the joint Figure Marching Competition hosted by Glasgow Battalion, The Boys' Brigade and Paisley and District Battalion, The Boys' Brigade.

After weeks of hard work perfecting their turns, timing and teamwork, the boys lifted 1st place in the BB Glasgow competition and proudly marched home with 2nd place overall on the day – a fantastic and well-deserved achievement.

Well done to all the boys who took part – and our thanks to BB Glasgow and BB Paisley for organising a great event.

There was a bit of a racket on Monday evening as the Partick District Badminton competition was held at Scotstoun.

🥈 In the Junior age group, Harris served up a brilliant performance to take silver – acing from start to finish.

🥈 In the Senior event, Daniel wasn’t to be outdone, smashing his way to silver – a truly shuttle-star performance!

Well done to all the boys who took part in an enjoyable evening - and thanks to our friends at the 135th Glasgow BB for organising!

It’s been a busy and fun-filled run-up as we approach the Christmas holidays! 🎄✨

🧱🍬 Gingerbread house building was the order of the day for our Junior and Company Sections – and predictably, some creations were more structurally sound than others! 🏠

🎭🧜‍♀️ Earlier this week we also enjoyed a trip to the King’s Theatre, where our Anchors and Juniors were treated to The Little Mermaid pantomime – a brilliant evening enjoyed by all, with the added bonus of ice cream at the interval! 🍦

🎅🧦 Our sections conclude tonight for 2025, with Christmas jumpers firmly established as the uniform of choice – a festive way to wrap up another great year! 🎁🎉

Anchors & Juniors latest adventure arrived tonight in the shape of a tube… that you hurtle down a ski slope on!

A great evening at Bearsden Ski Centre where our boys had brilliant fun slide after slide - with some wet conditions making the slope even faster!

Some pics from tonight - with a video to follow in the near future!

Our first Church Parade of the session took place in chilly, but bright and sunny conditions at Broomhill Hyndland Parish Church.

The Bugle Band did a great job at the march past, playing Sousa, Georgia and Robin Hood.

Thanks to everyone who attended and made it a memorable occasion.

As part of today’s Remembrance Day worship at Broomhill Hyndland Parish Church of Scotland, our lead bugler, Stewart Gray, played the Last Post to begin the two minutes’ silence, and concluded the reflection with Reveille.

Although the Company was not on parade this morning - as our Chaplain was fulfilling his duties as Moderator of the Presbytery of Glasgow at Glasgow Cathedral - we look forward to joining worship next Sunday, followed by a march past after the service.

🎃 Our Junior Section had a fang-tastic Halloween night full of fun and frights! 👻

From musical chairs with a spooky twist to Halloween corners, dooking for apples and the ever-popular Mummy Making with toilet paper – there were laughs (and scares!) all around! 💀🧻🍏

Everyone looked brilliant in their costumes, and the Halloween tunes kept the energy high all evening! 🕷️🧙‍♂️
